Happy Friday! I'm happy the week is over although we did have Wednesday off so I can't complain too much. Do y'all have any fun plans for the weekend? With your encouragement, I decided that I am going to chop my hair off! I am doing a shoulder-length bob and I'm really excited. If I hate it, I at least have plenty of time to grow it back out before the wedding!
I wanted to get another outfit post up but this week sort of got away from me! It makes it even harder to shoot outfit posts with it getting dark so early--plus I heavily rely on Steven's schedule since he takes all my pictures. I thought this would be a fun post instead! I love seeing foundation routines and with the Sephora VIB sale I thought this was a good opportunity. I want to preface this by telling you that I have INCREDIBLY dry skin. I have eczema so my face is always horribly dry thus I am only using products that are super hydrating.
Primer-I just bought this
Make Up For Ever Nourishing Primer during the VIB Rouge sale and I can tell it's going to be a staple! It's really hydrating and definitely helps make my foundation last.
Foundation-Over the last few months I have been wearing either the
Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation or the
Too Faced Born This Way. However, my favorite is mixing them together! They're gorgeous on their own but when you mix them, it's a match made in heaven (especially for someone who is dry)!
Concealer-This
Urban Decay Concealer has been my favorite since it first came out! Super hydrating and I love the applicator.
Under-Eye Highlight/Contour-When I set my under-eye area I like to use a yellow powder. I had been using the Anastasia Banana Powder, but just recently switched over to this
Marc Jacobs Light Filtering duo. The yellow powder is amazing! It's so smooth and really brightens under your eyes. I also use the contour shade after I apply my bronzer to add more definition to my cheekbones.
Bronzer-After I originally bought this
Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion bronzer, I hated it! I felt like it wasn't applying any color to my cheeks unless I literally jammed the brush into the powder. I read some reviews and found that it was the brush I was using. If you try this product, make sure to use a more dense brush! Once I switched brushes, I fell in love. This is a very natural bronzer and makes my skin look like it's glowing. I love it!
Blush-I change up my blush pretty much every day, but year round I am constantly reaching for
Nars "Madly." It's a gorgeous terracotta shade and I just love how it goes with any make-up look.
Highlight-During the Fall/Winter months, for some reason I'm not into a super intense highlight. I prefer something more subtle that just makes you look like you're glowing. The
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders are incredible! I have the Luminous Light powder and the
palette. I switch off between them almost every day. I will definitely be wearing Luminous Light on my wedding day!
Setting-The
Urban Decay Chill Setting Spray has been my holy grail setting spray for a couple years now. I love the cooling sensation and how it adds extra hydration at the end! It also makes your foundation look even more flawless.
Hope you guys enjoyed this post! I would love to hear any recommendations you have for someone with dry skin--I'm always looking for new and better products. Have a wonderful weekend!
