Spring is Here!

Dress: Forever 21, Bag: Tory Burch (this was from last year's collection. similar  here and here), Shoes: Lulu's (similar here and here), Earrings: Jcrew, Lipstick: YSL #1

I'm so excited that the cold weather has finally passed and the cherry blossoms are blooming in DC. It is my favorite time of year and my favorite time for fashion. The Contemporary collection from Forever 21 is great if you're looking for really feminine whimsical styles for an affordable price. Whenever I do purchase from F21, I always buy from their contemporary line. I love the pattern of this dress and the big boho sleeves.

I also adore these shoes. They're so perfect for spring and summer and will look great with dresses or just a casual top and jeans. I couldn't find this exact pair because I bought them from Lulu's last year, but almost every brand is selling their own version of this shoe.

Styling Basics

Top: H&M, Necklace: Kendra Scott, Jeans: Topshop, Shoes: Steve Madden, Bag: Tory Burch (this color sold out but there are a ton of other cute colors), Lipstick: Flat Out Fabulous by Mac
My favorite and most simplistic style tip is dressing up basics. I love taking just plain white or black t-shirts (or ones like this that have a little bit of flair or fringe) and adding accessories to really dress up the outfit. Whenever I am running late to work or going out to run errands or meeting friends for coffee, the first thing I typically grab is a "basic" top and I throw on a statement necklace, scarf or even a brighter bag to make the outfit pop. If you really want to go the extra mile, pop on a bright lipstick color and call it a day!

It sounds straightforward but on just an everyday basis, to me, it is so worth it to buy a ton of cheaper basic tops and to splurge a little more on the accessories!

Moto Chic

Top: TargetJeans: Topshop, Jacket: ExpressShoes: Aldo (obsessed), Bag: Kate Spade (Older Style-Similar)
Necklace: Baublebar (rose gold-sold out, similar), Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, Lipstick: Twig by Mac

When you find that pair of jeans that makes you feel confident and love the way you look, it's a pretty exciting thing! This year I discovered the Topshop Joni High Rise "Moto" Jeans. The first pair I bought were the black ones I am wearing here. After that, I ended up buying two more pairs! I think jeans are definitely something you should invest in because if you love them, you're going to wear them very frequently. The high-waisted look is definitely back in full force and I, for one, am loving it. I think high-waisted jeans are incredibly flattering for the waistline and personally I find them much more comfortable than the low-rise jeans. I think they will transition perfectly into spring and summer because they will look great with crop tops and sandals. That is a pretty effortless outfit combination right there!

I love this look because it's simple, pretty affordable and little bit edgy. This will most likely (and hopefully) be my first & last winter look. I'm more than ready for some bright pops of color, pink lips and warm weather!
