Emerald Sweater Dress

Dress: Ann Taylor, Shirt: J. Crew, Belt: J. Crew, Shoes: Dolce Vita
Happy hump day loves! Hope the first half of your week has been great! I ALMOST feel like it's Friday because I'll be working from home tomorrow and obviously off on Friday. These next few weekends will be jam packed! We have an event at our wedding venue on the 9th where they invite a bunch of the local vendors to meet with the future brides/grooms/families then the following weekend I'm going to Columbia in South Carolina to visit one of my MOHs. The weekend after that I'm going to my very first wedding dress appointment! So excited to really start getting into the wedding planning.

Anyway--I wore this outfit to work a couple of weeks ago and got a ton of compliments so I wanted to share it on the blog! This dress from Ann Taylor is seriously winter perfection. It's heavy enough to keep you cozy and is so versatile. You could wear it with a black sweater, tights and heels to dress it up a little more or you could wear it more casual like I did here. I would say if you order to size down because I ordered my normal dress size and it's just a little bit too big/too long on me.

Do you guys have any fun NYE plans?!

Camel & Stripes

Shirt: J. Crew, Scarf: Forever 21, Jeans: Paige Denim, Bag: Tory Burch, Booties: J. Crew (old, similar here)
Happy Monday lovelies! Hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas! Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston, More Pieces of Me for Hello Monday, and Style Elixir today! I'm going through that post-Christmas slump and feeling a little depressed that it's over. I'm looking forward to starting a fresh, new year though! Christmas break was nice and relaxing--I spent a lot of time with family, friends and ate yummy food. All the good stuff!

This scarf has to be one of my favorite recent purchases. I noticed that this color is sold out but they still have it in grey and it is under $15! I highly recommend it if you're looking for just a basic, solid scarf. It's super cozy and I'm so impressed with the quality. I also am LOVING this shirt from J. Crew. Not going to lie--I've already worn it 3 or 4 times since I got it last week.

Merry Christmas!

Happy day before Christmas Eve! How cute is this picture? Toby isn't the most cooperative for the camera (obviously) but I thought he looked so cute in his candy cane collar!

As excited as I am for Christmas, it's all just happening way too fast. I CAN tell you that we are going to be one of those couples that keeps the tree up well past New Year's! I refuse to take it down.

Today I'm just going to be baking blueberry muffins because my aunt and cousin are so wonderful and will be bringing a bunch of baked goods to families at the Children's Hospital on Christmas Eve morning! Thursday night we'll be eating dinner at the National Harbor like I mentioned before and then Christmas day we'll be doing brunch at my aunt's house. Very excited for quality family time.

Anyway--I hope you all have a blessed Christmas and stay safe if you're traveling! I'll be back to posting on Monday!

Sequins Galore

Turtleneck: J. Crew, Skirt: J. Crew (sold out, almost identical here), Cape: Loft (sold out, similar here), Shoes: Steve Madden, Earrings: Baublebar
Happy Monday loves and happy week of Christmas! Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston and Fizz & Frosting today! So beyond excited that Christmas is just a few days away. I have totally completed my holiday shopping and I'm ready to go! I'll be working a full day today and a half day from home tomorrow but will be off for the rest of the week. I will also be doing a blog post on Wednesday but after that I'll be taking a break from the blog until next Monday! I definitely need this break to relax, refresh, and to spend time with family.

If y'all have any holiday parties or have any Christmas plans that require you to get a little more dressed up, I think this outfit would be great! It's cozy enough with the cape and the sequins make it super festive. I also think this would be an awesome New Year's Eve outfit. This skirt sold out last week at J. Crew BUT I linked to one almost identical at Banana Republic and it's 40% off!

I would love to hear about your holiday plans in the comments!

Last Minute Gift Guide

Socks, Mug, Sweater, Earrings, Candle, Baking Journal, Palette, Philosophy Set, Jewelry Box
Happy Friday loves! Hope you had a great week. I can tell that everyone at work is starting to get into holiday mode which is great because things are slowing down. I didn't take off too much time for Christmas-just Wednesday through Sunday of next week. I used so much vacation time this year-plus I just started this job in March so it hasn't been long.

I was really excited to put this post together because like I mentioned on Wednesday, I was really struggling with gift ideas especially for a lot of the women in my life (mom/aunts/cousins/friends). Doing this gift guide really pushed me to research some fun, unique gift ideas that aren't too expensive overall. Everything is under $100! I also feel like I covered a wide range of personalities and interests-fashion, beauty, cooking, interior decorating, etc. Sephora, Nordstrom and Anthropologie are GREAT places to find awesome, unique gifts!

I hope you found this a little bit helpful and that you have a great weekend!

Christmas Day Outfit

Shirt: J. Crew (sold out, very similar here and here), Skirt: from last year (Similar here), Heels: Zara, Bag: Kate Spade (similar), Lipstick: Mac "Russian Red"
T-minus 9 days until Christmas--so excited! I don't know why but I have been seriously struggling with gift ideas this year. I usually can be very creative with my gifts but it's just not happening. Luckily, so many other bloggers have been doing gift idea posts which is really helpful! I think I might try to create my own "Gift  Guide" post for Friday, hoping that will push me to do my own research and will give me some inspiration.

If y'all need a good outfit idea for Christmas, I really like the look of this casual plaid top and more formal skirt! I wore this exact skirt for Christmas eve last year and I love it. I'm sad it's no longer sold but I linked to one VERY similar. We (for the last couple years) have been going out for dinner Christmas Eve at the National Harbor. It's right on the water and has a big gorgeous Ferris Wheel (kind of like the London Eye but not as big). I ordered this sequined skirt that I think I'm going to wear out to dinner this year. I'll make sure to share some pics!

My FAVORITE Sweater

Sweater: Free People, Jeans: Paige Denim, Shoes: Vince Camuto, Hat: Topshop, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Lipstick: Mac "Russian Red"
Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston today! This weekend, we did a lot of holiday celebrating with co-workers and got all our decorating done. I also got to see one of my best friends (and my other MOH...yes I have 2) because she was in town visiting from SC. I haven't seen her since before Steven and I got engaged so it has been FOREVER! We're getting so close to Christmas y'all. I'm beyond excited!

Ok...this sweater, I don't even know where to begin. This has to be my favorite sweater I've ever owned. Yes, I have a lot of cream cable-knit sweaters but I love how flowy and long this one is. I'll definitely be wearing this on Christmas day. We get pretty dressed up for a nice dinner out on Christmas Eve but Christmas day we pretty much relax around the house with family and cook at home so this sweater will be perfect.

Also wanted to mention, if you're looking for the perfect red lipstick, I really have been loving Mac "Russian Red." It's matte but not too drying and it has awesome staying power. I love more cool toned reds so this shade is perfect!

Holiday Blues

Sweater: Madewell (on sale!), Shirt: J. Crew, Leggings: Zella, Boots: Dolce Vita, Hat: J. Crew
Happy Friday! Hope you all had a wonderful week and have some fun weekend plans ahead. I am SO glad this week is coming to an end and am looking forward to spending time with Steven over the weekend now that he's feeling better. We also will be getting up our Christmas decorations on Sunday which I can't wait for! I'll definitely do a post next week sharing some of the decor.

This sweater from Madewell is so chunky and is incredibly warm. It's perfect especially for the temperature right now where I could get away with wearing just the sweater and no coat. I also love the Aztec pattern! When  I was ordering, I almost got the sweater in just a solid cream color. I decided to be a little bit more adventurous (plus my closet has about 5+ cream sweaters that all look the same--I can be so boring sometimes).

Have a great weekend lovelies!

Shearling Vest

V est: Design Lab (not online, similar here), Sweater: J. Crew, Jeans: Express, Shoes: J. Crew (old, similar here), Bag: Tory Burch, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
\
Happy Wednesday! Hope y'all are enjoying your week so far. I'm sort of ready for it to be over! Steven has been sick which hasn't been fun at all and the work days have just felt really long. I just want it to be Christmas break! Okay, enough complaining.

My wonderful MOH, Kate, took these pictures while we were in DC on Sunday! Unfortunately we weren't able to get a ton because they're doing so much construction on the National Mall AND the Capitol building. Nothing looked as pretty as it usually does! The day was so fun though--we just ate yummy food and walked around the National Gallery of Art which is my FAVORITE Smithsonian museum. If you're ever in the DC area visiting, make sure you go!

I am so bummed that I can't find this vest online. It was such a great price at Lord & Taylor ($108 originally but $67 on sale) and the material is so incredibly soft. This kept me cozy the whole time we were walking around DC.  I will keep looking to see if it pops back up on their site. I linked to a similar option though that looks super adorable!

Styling a Sweater Vest

Vest: Madewell, Tee: BP, Pants: Topshop, Shoes: Topshop, Bag: Tory Burch
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston for today's post! This weekend was a blast and the weather was actually pretty great. Sunday I spent the day with my best friend exploring the museums in DC and the city. I'll share pictures from our little day trip on Wednesday!

I have a thing for sweater vests and I just LOVE this one from Madewell. I love the length and how cozy it is! Also, this is my new every day bag from Tory Burch and it has to be my favorite I've ever owned. It's the perfect size and I love the soft leather. I have the York tote in a fuchsia color but that one is a little more structured. I actually prefer that this one isn't so rigid! It's going to be perfect for work and travel because it easily fits my laptop or iPad.

Cozy Poncho

Poncho: Cabi, Turtleneck: J. Crew, Jeans: Topshop, Flats: J. Crew (Sold out, almost identical here), Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Bag: Tory Burch
Happy Friday loves! Hope you had a wonderful week. This week was a little rough so I'm glad it's over! Luckily I'm working from home today too which always helps. Do y'all have any fun plans for the weekend? Saturday we'll be watching the Clemson game and Sunday I'm going into DC with one of my best friends (and MOH) to go to the Smithsonian museums. Living right outside of DC, I feel like a lot of times I take it for granted. I want to try to do more fun things in the city while we still live here!

I got this poncho because one of my best friends works with Cabi and she told me their new Fall Collection was great! I saw this poncho and knew I needed it. It is SO cozy and perfect for fall days outside. It's probably at the point here in Virginia where it's a little too cold to not wear a coat unfortunately. For those of you with more mild weather this time of year, this poncho would be perfect!

Hope you all have a fun and relaxing weekend!

Holiday Blush

Sweater: J. Crew, Scarf: J. Crew, Jeans: Blank Denim (one size back in stock!), Booties: J. Crew (Old, similar here),          Bag: Rebecca Minkoff

Happy Wednesday! I don't know about you guys, but the start of this week has been a little bit rough post-holiday. Not only with work, but I have been trying to get back into the groove of working out because after being sick and with Thanksgiving, I haven't been to the gym in close to 2 weeks! It's so hard to get motivated after a long break. The main thing keeping me going this week is knowing that Christmas is right around the corner!

I saw this sweater on J.Crew's website and fell in love. I immediately thought it would be so perfect for Christmas day. It's random but I am really loving blush this fall/winter. It's normally more of a spring/summer shade but I really like how it contrasts with the creams and greys I wear during winter. I am LOVING J. Crew's latest collections. This scarf is so cozy and the color is so feminine and soft.
