Pre-Wedding Health & Fitness

Top: Lululemon, Pants: Lululemon, Hat: Lululemon, Shoes: Nike
Happy Wednesday loves! This week has already been super hectic and I'm ready for the weekend. Only 3 more days right?! Anyway--on Saturday, I'm going back to the bridal salon to see/try on my dress again because 2 of my bridesmaids will be in town. I can't wait to wear it again and I'm so excited to show them! In preparation for that, I'm trying to be a little strict on my diet this week and get in some heavy work-outs. That is what sort of inspired this post! Also, it was super rainy and gross out which didn't make for cute outfit pictures this weekend.

I just wanted to talk a little bit about my health and fitness goals so I'm in the best possible shape I can be for my wedding! Part of me thinks if I blog a little bit about it, I'll hold myself more accountable lol. My goal isn't really to lose weight--mostly just to lose fat in some areas and gain muscle.

Fitness Regimen:
Work-out 4 days a week (this seems to be the most realistic for my schedule)
Day 1-solely legs/glutes (ex. squats, lunges, leg press, seated leg curls, weighted glute bridge, barbell deadlifts, stiff leg kickbacks, hip abductor/adductor, calf raise, etc)
Day 2-30 minutes of cardio (treadmill or elliptical), abs
Day 3-30 minutes of cardio (treadmill or elliptical), arms/back (ex. hammer curls, seated tricep extension, one arm dumbbell row, barbell curls, lat pull-down, seated cable curl, etc.)
Day 4-I'm calling this the "fun day" because it's the day I attend a group class at the gym--usually either spin (my favorite), yoga, or bodypump (which is a strength training class).

I'll talk more about my diet plan in another post but to be honest, I'm still trying to find a plan that works for me! I would say that is definitely my biggest struggle because I LOVE carbs. Some people love sweets but for me it's super hard to lower my carb intake. Blame it on my Italian heritage!

I hope this was sort of interesting to read! I like reading fitness blogs and tips because it's fun to get more ideas and it's also super motivating to see others going through the same journey!

  10. Kelly, I love this workout look and I always love you in hats, you have the perfect face for every kind of hat! Your workout schedule looks fantastic and I can't wait to read more about what you'll be eating. I'm a sucker for carbs, too, and sometimes when Eddie and I go out to eat, I have to tell the waiter either no bread or take it mid way because I'll end up devouring it, especially if there's olive oil on the table, oy vey! Haha! I hope you have a wonderful day ahead, beauty, and thanks so much for sharing!

  20. Great workout plan! I'm Italian too, so pasta's got a special place in my heart, but I actually find that a higher carb, low fat diet makes me feel and look best! Every body is different, though!
Love reading about your wedding preparations! So excited for you.

  21. First off, you already look AMAZING but I totally understand wanting to feel your best on your wedding day ! These sound like great and achievable goals! Carbs are always the hardest to cut, I've read that limiting carbs to only the morning can help since you have all day to burn them off! Good luck lady!
