Weekend Wish List: Spring Accessories

Bag, Earrings, Wedges, Wallet, Lipstick, Necklace, Sandals, Sunglasses
Happy Friday darlings! Hope you had a wonderful week and some fun weekend plans ahead. Like I mentioned on Monday, we're going out to our wedding venue tomorrow morning to check out the greenery/flowers in bloom (since the ceremony will be outside) plus they also did some renovations to the reception/ballroom area so we're excited to see that. When we go out to the bay area, we typically get crabs or crabcakes too which is always delish! Sunday, there is actually a new church that I want to try. That's something that we've been seriously lacking since moving back up this way! We had a wonderful church when we were in South Carolina but we have yet to find one that has really been a good fit in VA. Fingers crossed that this is the one!

With the change in season, I have my eye on so many accessories for spring/summer! I'm sure you guys are seeing these marble Quay sunnies a bunch so I'm just totally jumping on that bandwagon. They're SO stinkin' cute and Quay sunglasses are priced so reasonably. Also, Tory Burch "Miller" sandals are just a summer staple. I love the color of this pair and I like that they are the normal/matte leather and not the shiny "patent" version. Lastly, how ADORABLE are these dangly gold earrings from Serefina? They're the perfect pair of boho hoops that will go with almost any look!

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend and I would love to hear any plans you have!

Styling Boyfriend Jeans

Top: Lush, Jeans: Joe's, Espadrilles: Tory Burch (old, similar here), Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Happy Hump Day! Hope your week is going well so far. As always, I'm hitting that mid-week slump where I feel like I can't wait one more day for the weekend! I mentioned a few weeks ago that we were in the process of finalizing things on a townhouse but unfortunately that fell through. I haven't really talked about it on the blog yet because it was super disappointing and  has been super stressful because now we're trying to find another one before our lease ends! I'm just praying that we find the right one and soon because after a couple months of looking the excitement has definitely died down haha!

I wore this outfit on Sunday when we were running errands and going to look at houses and I was SO comfortable! These Tory Burch espadrilles I actually found at Nordstrom Rack so they were an awesome deal. I linked to pair that are similar that I like even more! I find espadrilles so comfortable especially open toed ones like these. Also--how adorable are these boyfriend jeans? Joe's Jeans and Paige Denim are my favorite brand for jeans because they are SO comfortable and soft. These are no exception--it feels almost as comfortable as wearing sweatpants!

"Literally" My Favorite Romper

Romper: Anthropologie, Heels: Sam Edelman, Hat: Rhythm(sold out, similar here)
Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston for today's post! This weekend was SO relaxing which is exactly what I needed. The weather was just gorgeous here so we spent a lot of time outside in the sun with Toby. We spent Saturday night pretty much laying around and re-watching season 5 of Game of Thrones. During the day Sunday, I sat outside on our patio and have been reading this book. It's SO good so far! Next weekend, we're going back to the wedding venue since we'll be exactly 1 year away and we want to see what types of flowers/plants are in bloom there this time of year. May be a little obsessive but oh well!

I bought this romper while we were in NY last weekend and I'm seriously OBSESSED! We walked into Anthropologie and I immediately saw and grabbed the romper. Love at first sight! I love how it fits and absolutely adore the boho print. It's super casual but you can also dress it up a little more by pairing it with heeled sandals like I did here. I'm just smitten!

Sweating for the Wedding [New Series]

Sweatshirt: "Outdoor Voices" via J. Crew, Leggings: Lululemon, Sneakers: Nike
Hey there loves! Happy Friday! Thank goodness I'm working from home today because  I can always sleep in at least one hour longer on my home days--I have just been exhausted this week! Anyway--I'm just going to jump right into today's post.

I am going to be starting a new series on the blog and wanted to see what your thoughts were! As most of you know, I'm getting married next April so now that we're finally within the 1 year stretch (we have been engaged since last July...long time I know!), I want to start buckling down and getting really serious about fitness/nutrition. I already tried (and failed haha) Whole 30 but that was mainly to see if I have a dairy/gluten intolerance and not because I want to lose weight. It's something I may do closer to the wedding to really lean out but from now up until the wedding, I want to try something a little more attainable. I have been reading a lot about IIFYM (macro counting) and even tried it for a few months last year. I definitely saw a difference especially with working out! For me, I think it's definitely the best fit for my lifestyle and also for the type of results I want to see in my body. If you don't know much about macro counting, I have linked to the If It Fits Your Macros site here.

Anyway--back to the series idea! I'm thinking about doing posts every other Friday just talking about my fitness/nutrition journey and sharing results over the next year leading up to the wedding. I'm going to call it "Sweating for the Wedding" because I see that hashtag all over Instagram and thought it sounded cute! One thing I really LOVE about this idea is that I think it will help keep ME super accountable and will really motivate me to stick to the regimen. If everyone enjoys the posts, I'll probably keep it up after the wedding and just call it "Fitness Friday." I would love to hear your thoughts, tips, and more about your fitness journeys too!

NYC Trip Recap

Maddie, Kate, and I at High Line
Hola loves! Hope you're enjoying your Wednesday so far. The week has been super busy and I feel like I'm still super behind on sleep from the NYC trip (because I'm an old woman and need a solid 9 hours to function). I decided to do my NY trip recap today because I have another post I want to do on Friday! Jumping right in--the trip was so much fun! Kate and I rode the bus in Friday night and got in pretty late so we just caught up with Maddie and stayed in at her place. Saturday morning, we got yummy bagels then headed to High Line in the meatpacking district. I'm not sure if any of you have been to NY before but I definitely recommend going to High Line! It's an old subway rail that they turned into a park and it's so gorgeous. It has AMAZING views of the city like this one below:
Only your bestie will offer to take your OOTD! (shout out to this hat that I seriously wore all weekend)

After High Line we went to Chelsea Market which is right below it! I have been to Chelsea Market before but last time, I didn't check out the Artists & Flea market. I am so glad we did this time! It's basically like Etsy in real life--the jewelry was my favorite. I found an adorable necklace there and we also got these matching rings!

After exploring Chelsea Market, we went to Central Park because it was an absolutely gorgeous day out. We were there for probably 2-3 hours just enjoying the sunshine and the view!

We were sort of hungry by the time we left Central Park and our dinner reservations weren't until 9 so we went to an adorable Mediterranean restaurant called Beyoglu. It's in the Upper East side and has such yummy tapas! If you're into Mediterranean food, I definitely recommend. That night we went out for yummy margaritas and Mexican at El Rio Grande in Midtown, then went out for drinks and dancing at The Park in Chelsea. I wore the most adorable romper from Anthropologie that I can't wait to feature in an upcoming outfit post!

Sunday, we went out for breakfast then pretty much immediately had to get on the bus back home. I had such a blast and always do when visiting the city!

Hope y'all enjoyed this different kind of post!

Embroidered Details

Top: BP, Jeans: Paige Denim, Shoes: BP
Happy Monday loves! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston for today's post! My weekend in NYC was so much fun! I am going to do a recap post on Friday but I had a blast spending time with the girls. The weather was absolutely gorgeous so we spent so much time outside in the sun and ate some super yummy food. More about the trip on Friday though! I'm still super exhausted--I feel like I got absolutely no sleep this weekend so I'm sorry if this post is a little shorter than usual.

This embroidered top looked so perfect for spring and summer so I knew I had to have it. I originally was thinking of wearing it for our engagement pictures in May but I ended up finding a top that I like a little more. This one is still gorgeous though! The embroidery is so pretty and the top itself is just great quality. I think once the weather gets warmer it'll look so cute with jean shorts and some gladiator sandals. Also--shout out to these booties once again! I wore them a ton this weekend and for the most part, they were incredibly comfortable!

PS--thank you for the kind words on my 1 year anniversary post on Friday. I really feel blessed to have connected with all of you through blogging!

1 Year Blogoversary + Q&A

Happy Friday lovelies! I am just about to finish packing up before I head off to NYC for the weekend. Our bus doesn't leave until later this afternoon but I need to get all packed and run some errands beforehand so I took a half day at work. I can't wait to share photos from this weekend--I'll definitely do a blog post about my trip next week!

Without even realizing it, my 1 year Blog Anniversary came and passed on April 4th! I can't believe a year has passed since I started my blog. Blogging has been such a blast and I have loved watching it grow over the last year. For the last 3 or 4 years I have wanted to start a fashion blog and had even tried a couple of times but ended up deleting them because I was never happy with the content. With Rosy Outlook, I wanted to take it really seriously because it was something I knew I would love doing! I have loved getting to connect with and "meet" all of you and can't wait to see Rosy Outlook grow even more over the next year! I thought it would be fun to do a "Get to Know Me" post today so I googled other tag posts and found some fun questions to answer:

What is your middle name? Rose! It's a family name and actually how I came up with my blog title!

What was your favorite subject in school? Probably will come as no surprise but I loved English/Writing courses. I also LOVED my history classes. I was a Political Science major with a minor in Journalism!

Where did you go to college? Clemson University--go Tigers!

What is your favorite song at the moment? Pillow Talk by Zayn--I mean c'mon. That song is AMAZING.

What is the last thing you bought? I have been trying to spend less money on clothes lately (emphasis on the word "trying") so I think the last thing I bought was the new Kristin Cavallari book!

What is your favorite book of all time? I am such an avid reader so that's such a hard question! My favorite genre is historical fiction so I love anything by Kate Morton (especially "The Forgotten Garden"). I also LOVED "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier!

Do you have any pets? Yes! Toby my golden retriever mix. He is the love of my life! Sorry Steven.

Favorite Perfume? Marc Jacobs "Mod Noir"--I actually just recently received it as a gift but it is by FAR my favorite scent I've ever owned.

Are you  married? Not yet--will be on April 29, 2017 :)

How many siblings do you have? Zero. I'm an only child!

Favorite place to shop? It's probably pretty obvious from my blog but I absolutely LOVE Nordstrom and Shopbop. Zara is also one of my favorites!

What do you do for work? I work in Human Resources at an IT services company!

Favorite TV Shows? SUCH a hard question because I'm pretty die-hard over several shows. My current favorites are Game of Thrones, Penny Dreadful, and Modern Family! Favorite OG shows would be Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and Gossip Girl (obviously).

Hope y'all enjoyed this post and have a wonderful weekend!

Floral Wrap Dress

Dress: ASTR (sold out, LOVE this one), Heels: J. Crew, Clutch: J. Crew
Happy Hump Day loves! This week has already been a busy one so I am more ready than ever for a weekend away with the girls. I think it's been close to a year since I was in NYC last so I can't wait to go back. Every time I visit, it makes me depressed to leave. I love living in Virginia so close to DC but there is no city like New York!

This dress is one of my absolute obsessions! I saw it on Nordstrom's site a couple months ago and it ended up going on sale when I purchased it for only $42. ASTR is one of my favorite brands that Nordstrom sells along with Wayf. They always have such pretty dresses and prints for spring/summer. I'll definitely be wearing this dress to my cousin's bridal shower which is coming up in May! I love that it has long sleeves and the high-lo silhouette. Even though this exact dress is sold out online, ASTR has a bunch of other "faux-wrap" dresses similar and in such adorable summer prints!

Linking up with Mix & Match Fashion for today's post.

Styling a White Tee

Tee: Cotton On, Jeans: Joe's Jeans, Necklace: Kendra Scott, Booties: J. Crew (old), Bag: Free People (old, similar here)
Happy Monday loves! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Ours was sort of hectic with home and family stuff but all good things. Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston and Style Elixir for today's post! Sunday, I brunched with one of my bridesmaids and it was so nice to catch up with her and get in a good vent sesh. I'm super excited for this upcoming weekend because I'm going to NYC with my maid of honor, Kate, to visit our friend, Maddie (and one of my other bridesmaids). Visiting her is always SO much fun and we always eat such yummy food! I'm not going to lie y'all...I totally fell off the Whole 30 wagon this weekend (insert ashamed emoji). This girl just loves gluten and sugar far too much. Yolo! Maybe once it gets a little closer to the wedding I'll buckle down and get really serious about doing the Whole 30 but for now, I'm just going to try to eat a pretty healthy and balanced diet.

This Cotton On white tee is a great example of your perfect, every day basic! I love tees like this that are so cute and simple. It has the cute "shark bite" hem and it's SO incredibly comfortable. I also love that it's long enough to cover your butt so you can wear it with leggings! Cotton On has always been one of my favorite places to buy good basic tees or sweaters. Their prices are also awesome!

Shopbop Purchases/Wish List!

Sunnies, Earrings, Dress, Swimsuit, Clutch, Sandals
Happy Friday loves! This week was long but good overall. We got the house! We're so beyond thrilled and can't wait to move in. We're still going back and forth on the move-in date but it's probably going to be early-mid June! I will definitely be doing home decor posts because there some things Steven and I want to DIY--plus it'll just be so fun to document our progress! Interior Decorating/Home Design blogs are some of my absolute favorites to read.

I wanted to share a couple items I purchased during the Shopbop sale and others I am still lusting after. I meant to post this yesterday before the sale ended but just didn't get an opportunity--I thought it would still be a fun post though! I really want to pull the trigger and get this Mara Hoffman dress--it's so GORGEOUS and it would be perfect for the wedding I'll be attending in Santa Barbara this summer. Also, I have had my eye on these Sam Edelman gladiator sandals for a while and finally got them! They're so cute and would look great with shorts or dresses this summer. Scallops are definitely big this season so when I saw this swimsuit I knew I needed it. I also love that it's a halter top!

Hope y'all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

Top: Zara, Jeans: Blank Denim (back in stock and 25% off with code INTHEFAM), Shoes: Sam Edelman, Bag: Tory Burch (color sold out online), Earrings: Kendra Scott
Happy Wednesday lovebugs! Hope you're having a great week so far. Mine has been sort of stressful but overall good. Let me tell you...it's only been 3 days (technically 2.5) and the Whole 30 is seriously a struggle! I definitely feel pretty good but I am craving grains and definitely craving sugar. I just keep telling myself 30 days is not that long! I think the biggest battle is going to be when we visit my friend in NYC next weekend. Honestly...I'm going to say this right now....if I DON'T cheat, it'll be a huge testament to my will power!

I have talked a few times about these grey jeans and whenever I've featured them in a post, they have been sold out. Well, they are back in stock! If you are looking for a staple pair of great grey jeans, these are my absolute favorite I've ever owned and you can get them for 25% off (details below). They fit so well, the denim is soft and I love the sort of distressed look of the grey. They're just perfection! I love how they pair with this lace top to make the look a little more casual!

Spring White

Top: Lush, Jeans: Articles of Society, Booties: J. Crew (old), Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Sunglasses: Karen Walker
Happy Monday loves! Hope y'all enjoyed your weekend. Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston for today's post! Our weekend was pretty eventful--Saturday we spent almost all day looking at houses and I think we found the one. Pray for us that it all works out! Sunday I just ran a bunch of errands and got a ton of stuff to start the Whole 30. Yes, I know I said I was going to start it last week....but I just couldn't resist the carbs after such busy days! This week I'm buckling down and getting serious about it!

This top from Lush is so adorable! It reminds me of a day at the beach and it's under $50. The wind was SO strong when we were taking these photos--it felt like it was 17 degrees out! I can't wait until it's 70 degrees and higher all the time!

Also--Shopbop Friends & Family is here! Take 25% Off with code INTHEFAM now through 4/7/2016. Restrictions Apply.

Here are a couple items on my list: 1,2,3,4 (need this for summer weddings!)

Weekend Wish List--Boho Vibes

Earrings, Candle, Pillow, Bag, Top, Lipstick in "So Chaud"
Happy Friday loves! Hope your week was wonderful. This week felt SO incredibly long to me. It was super busy so the days sort of flew by but by the time we got to Wednesday, it felt like it should have been Friday because I was so burnt out! This weekend we're looking at more townhouses which is super exciting. We found one we really like so we're going back to see it again and also checking out a few more! I can't wait to move in and start decorating. Although--we still have quite a while before we'll be moving in!

Once the weather starts getting warmer, my style gets more and more flowy + boho! This year everything turquoise and coral is screaming out to me. These Kenneth Jay Lane earrings are such a statement and I think they would look so great with any neutral outfit to make it pop! Also--this Alice + Olivia hobo looks like the perfect summer bag. I need it in my closet! Lastly, I saw Emily Gemma (from "The Sweetest Thing") posted a photo wearing this "So Chaud" lipstick by Mac. It's the perfect coral shade for brunettes. Sometimes I think coral looks weird on me because my skin is so olive and because I have darker hair. This shade looks perfect because it's not too pale of a coral and has more yellow undertones!

Do y'all have any fun plans for the weekend?!
