ilymix Blanket Scarf + 20% off Discount Code!

Scarf: ILYMIX (c/o), Sweater: Madewell (on sale!), Jeans: Joe's Jeans, Booties: Steve Madden
Happy Monday loves! Hope your weekend was fun and relaxing. Linking up with Biana from B Loved BostonFizz & Frosting, Style Elixir, Trend Spin, and Layers & Lipstick for today's post! Unfortunately, I still felt pretty sick all weekend so nothing super exciting to report. We did get Halloween candy and a few small things for our costumes just because we have no idea if we'll get trick or treaters tonight and how many we'll get at our new house. Let's just say I got enough candy to feed a village!
I was super excited when ILYMIX reached out to me about collaborating. They have adorable accessories but the items that stood out most to me were their collection of blanket scarves. They have SO many blanket scarves in adorable patterns and fall colors. Since I received mine, they've already added so many more scarves that I want! Their packaging was super adorable when it arrived and I immediately was surprised by how soft the scarf was. I have a huge collection of blanket scarves and although they're adorable, I wouldn't describe any of them as super soft. These are SO soft and such awesome quality.

I paired my scarf over my favorite grey cardigan from Madewell but I already have so many ideas for other outfits I can pair it with! It would look adorable over any pullover sweaters, under my suede moto jacket, and I even think it would look super cute worn poncho-style over just a plain white long-sleeved tee. Even more exciting--ILYMIX gave me an exclusive discount code to share with my readers for y'all to get 20% off your order! Use code kkalink20 at checkout and you'll get 20% off any of their items that are already an awesome deal.

Oh and also--HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Do y'all have any fun plans?!

This post was sponsored by ILYMIX but all opinions are my own.

Wedding Planning Update--6 Months to Go!!

Kirsten Smith Photography
Happy Friday loves! Hope you had a wonderful week and have some fun weekend plans ahead. I'm still feeling super under the weather so we don't have too much planned. We might have friends over to watch the Clemson game but aside from that, I want to just sleep and watch Halloween movies!

I thought it would be fun to give you guys an update on all the wedding planning because we are officially at the 6 month mark and it's blowing my mind! Time has been flying in general but when you're planning a wedding, it feels like it's going a million times faster.
Checked off the list:
--All of our vendors have been picked at this point except for the cake! I'm in the process of booking a cake tasting or two in November/December. The vendor I booked most recently was our Hair/Make-Up stylists so I've been doing some pretty heavy duty research on hairstyles. It's so hard to pick but I know I want to wear my hair down/half-up half-down.
--Bridal shower dates have all been set. I actually am having 3 bridal showers which was sort of unexpected but I have family all over the East Coast! I am having a big shower in upstate New York which is for all of my family. Most of my relatives live up that way! I am having one with just bridesmaids, friends and some family here in Virginia and then another one in South Carolina with Steven's family. It should be a blast!
--Bachelorette Party weekend/location has been picked. We're going to be doing my Bachelorette Party in NYC and I'm SO excited about it. Y'all know NYC is one of my favorite places!
--I have purchased a lot of my bridal accessories already including my veil, my shoes, and my robe for getting ready. I just need to pick a headpiece depending on what hairstyle I go with and some earrings. I also have my rehearsal dinner dress (I ended up buying a different one than the one I talked about before), my dress for one of the bridal showers and a dress for the Bachelorette party!
--We picked up my wedding dress a couple months ago and have already lined up my first fitting in February. I also have my hair/make-up trials that same weekend.
Still to come:
Obviously there are a lot of items that we have to wait to check off until it gets a little bit closer like picking out our menu, sending invites (although I already have those picked), setting up timeline meetings with our venue and vendors, etc.

For now, I'm just focusing on ordering some of the small decor items and some of the bridesmaid gifts. One site I majorly recommend if you're getting married is BHLDN. I LOVE all of their decor pieces and gifts. They have such a romantic style which I'm all about! I think I'm going to do a whole separate post when the wedding gets closer on bridesmaid gift ideas.

Another thing I'm torn on is whether or not we should write our own vows. I would love to hear how many of you wrote your own vows!

Hope y'all enjoyed this post! Have a wonderful weekend!

Suede Skirt & OTK Boots + Fashion Frenzy Link-Up!

Sweater: Aerie (ON SALE!!), Skirt: Hinge (old, similar here), OTK Boots: Steve Madden, Bag: Tory Burch

Happy Wednesday darlings! Hope your week is going well so far. Only 3 more days until the weekend..phew! Coming back to work, even if I was only away for a day or two, really throws me off. I just feel so behind on everything the whole week and I'm scrambling to get back into normalcy. I also woke up Monday with a horrible sore throat and the cold has just progressed since then. It's been forever since I've been sick and it definitely stinks!

It's super random but whenever I'm at a mall, I always swing into Aerie especially this time of year. They have the BEST sweaters and all their clothes are super soft. Everything in there from the last few years sort of reminds me of Brandy Melville. If you haven't been in there for a while or ever, I definitely recommend stopping by or visiting their site because they have some adorable sweaters and basics for fall. When I saw this off-the-shoulder sweater I knew I needed it. I love the really cool charcoal color but I was totally torn between this one and the more oatmeal colored one. Now that I see it's on sale, I'm sort of tempted to get that one too! Also, OTK boots are totally in again this year and if you're looking for a good pair, I definitely recommend Steve Madden. I got these last year and they have been a great investment. They're significantly cheaper than Stuart Weitzman but I think they look almost identical and they're great quality.

Blush & Grey Layering

Cardigan: Asos, Tee: J. Crew, Denim: Asos, Scarf: Nordstrom (old, almost identical here), Flats: J. Crew
Happy Monday darlings! Hope you had a fabulous weekend. Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston and Fizz & Frosting for today's post! This weekend was a blast. After attending all the wedding festivities on Friday and Saturday morning, Steven and I spontaneously headed up to Charlotte for the night. We absolutely LOVE it there and haven't been there in years! We walked around the South Park area and went out to dinner at this adorable place called Reid's. It's a restaurant and a "fine foods" market all in one--I highly recommend it if you're ever visiting Charlotte! They had yummy Oysters and a great wine selection. They also had AWESOME truffle fries! Steven and I always have so much fun on trips together. Once he's done with his Ph.D program next year, we plan to travel a lot more.

I brought this blush cardigan from Asos with me this weekend and it got a ton of wear. It's heavy enough that it will keep you nice and cozy during this early fall weather! Y'all also know how much I love blush but I also just love the combo of grey and blush. I think pairing blush with grey is a great way to transition the more spring/summery color into fall and winter!

70's Vibes + Fashion Frenzy Link-Up!

Top: Madewell (on sale), Jeans: Paige Denim, Shoes: Vince Camuto, Hat: Nordstrom (old, similar here), Choker: Urban Outfitters, Bag: Vince Camuto (sold out, similar here)
Happy Wednesday lovies! Hope your week is going well so far. This week feels extra frantic because I'm trying to get a ton done at work before we head out for North Carolina tomorrow. The wedding is in Grover, NC which I've never heard of but I think it's relatively close to Charlotte. We leave tomorrow afternoon and will be there through Sunday. I'll probably be skipping my Friday post because I'm not sure how good the service will be! It looks like it's in the mountains so I'm hoping we'll get some nice views of all the leaves changing and maybe some good pancakes. Small mountain towns in the South always seem to have good pancake places!

I am all about the 70's, 80's, and 90's fashion coming back into style. I feel like I should have been born in the 70's because I just LOVE flowy, floral, boho everything! I have been trying to find the perfect pair of flares and these are DEFINITELY perfect. I think I want to get them hemmed a little bit because right now I can only wear them with these Vince Camuto boots that are pretty high. Even with these they're close to touching the ground. Aside from that, they fit so well and have just enough "flare." Also--that little piece of lint on my hat was driving me crazy as I was editing these pictures haha!

Styling a Kimono for Fall

Kimono: Romwe (c/o), Tee: Madewell, Jeans: Topshop, Shoes: Aldo, Hat: Nordstrom Rack (similar here)
Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Mine was just that! Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston, Layers & Lipstick, Style Elixir and Trend Spin for today's post! Saturday, we did a thorough cleaning of the house and it feels so good. As much of a pain as it is to clean, sometimes it's super therapeutic. Saturday night, Kate and Maddie came over to see the house then we went out for dinner and drinks at Uncle Julio's. It was so much fun and there's nothing like friends and queso! Sunday, it was SUCH a gorgeous day out here. It was in the 70's, sunny and just perfect. Steven and I grabbed lunch outside and then got a bunch of blog shoots in since we're out of town this upcoming weekend.

When Romwe reached out to me about collaborating, I was thrilled because I have heard some great reviews from other bloggers. They have really adorable, on-trend pieces for very inexpensive. I was going through their site and the print of this kimono really stood out to me! I thought it would be such a great transition piece for fall and it's definitely that! It feels like great quality and get this--it's only $11! The shipping time wasn't bad at all and for something that is so cute and such a great deal, it's definitely worth the wait.
I was gifted some items in this post, however all opinions are my own.

Shopbop Event of the Season Sale! [Last Day]

Rag & Bone Booties, Ray-Ban Aviators, ZAC Zac Posen Handbag, Oscar de la Renta Earrings, Tory Burch Handbag, Kate Spade Beanie, IRO Dress, Sam Edelman Flats

Happy Friday! This week just FLEW by for me since I had Monday off. As of now, I have a lot of plans for the weekend that are up in the air. My friends Kate and Maddie may be coming over to see the house and to go out for dinner/drinks and I may also be seeing Girl on the Train with one of my other friends Nicole. It sounds like it's going to be a lot of girl time this weekend which I'm excited about! I also have to get in a good amount of blog shoots because next weekend we are going to a wedding in North Carolina and I doubt we'll be able to fit any in while we're there.
                         Event Of The Season | 25 - 30% Off Order With Code MAINEVENT16. Shop 10/12/16 - 10/14/16.
As I'm sure most of you already know, there is a HUGE Shopbop sale going on and I just wanted to share some of my picks since today is the last day! This is such an awesome sale and it's a great time to invest in higher-end items that you have had your eye on for a while. I REALLY wanted to get a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots but those were pretty much the first to go--all the ones I liked were sold out but there are definitely a lot of other good shoe options left like these Sam Edelman scalloped flats. Of course the color I want is sold out in my size but if you guys can get your hands on a pair in your size, I'll be so jealous! Also, I'm REALLY tempted to finally pull the trigger and by this ZAC Zac Posen bag. I have wanted one forever and it's such a good deal with the 30% off.

I would love to hear if you guys scooped up anything during the sale in the comments! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Black Bodycon + Leopard + Fashion Frenzy Link-Up!

Dress: Leith, Booties: Aldo, Bag: Tory Burch, Scarf: Vince Camuto (old, similar here) Sunglasses: Quay
Happy Hump Day loves! Hope you're having a great week so far. Mine definitely feels like it's flying because having Monday off always speeds it up! It was so nice to spend Monday with Steven after him being away a few days. We went to the pumpkin patch and picked out our pumpkins plus got some fun little Halloween decor pieces. It also seriously feels like winter here....ok, maybe that's an exaggeration but it's about 10 degrees too cold for my liking. I'm hoping it warms up just a tiny bit!

This dress is definitely a keeper! I'm not normally into bodycon dresses just because I don't like when things are too tight. I love super billowy loose fitting clothes, however this dress has rouching in all the right places and I just like the silhouette overall. It's a great length and I think paired with tights and a sweater I could pull it off for work!

Jumping into the link-up--just a reminder to link back to our link-up on your blogs when you enter. We are a newer link-up so it's super helpful for us if you do! Also, we're starting to pick out weekly favorites so make sure to keep coming back to see if you were our pick of the week! Feminine Plaid

Shirt: Topshop, Jeans: Paige Denim, Booties: BP, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (sold out in this color, almost identical here), Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Choker: Nordstrom Rack (similar here)

Happy Monday loves! My post today is going to be sort of brief because I actually have the day off so I'm going to take the opportunity to take a little detox day. Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston, Style Elixir, Layers & Lipstick, and Trend Spin for today's post! Steven and I are planning to head to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins then we're going to grab some cute little Halloween decorations for the house. I don't want to go too overboard with the decorations considering we still have actual furniture we need to buy for the house but I definitely want to do a little something!

This plaid button-up is a must-have for sure! I love the super feminine colors in the plaid print and it is also SO soft. Definitely the most comfortable of all of my fall plaids. I also love that it's a high-low style and has the longer back. Also, you guys know that I rave about Paige jeans and these are definitely my most worn. They're a really dark wash and I just noticed that they're on sale right now. If you're looking for a good pair of jeans, these are sort of pricey but I think they're worth every penny. They're so comfortable and just a great fit!

I Love Fall Tag!

Happy Friday loves! Hope you had a fabulous week and have some fun weekend plans ahead. I'm happy because Steven will be coming home tomorrow! They also are having the big Oktoberfest Virginia Beer/Wine festival right near our house so that's what I plan to do when Steven gets home. ALSO, we have Monday off and I couldn't be more thrilled. Columbus Day totally snuck up on me so it was a pleasant surprise when I realized we have a long weekend. Today, I'm totally in the fall festive mood so I wanted to do a fun little fall post and sort of compiled a few tags I found online and shortened them a little bit! Hope you enjoy!

1.    What is your Favorite Fall Month?
Obviously October! That's when it actually starts to feel like fall around here. The leaves start changing and the temperatures drop to low 70s! It's the best.
2.    What did you dress as for Halloween last year?
I don't think I dressed up last year but since we'll have trick or treaters coming to our new house, I really want to! Any costume suggestions are appreciated!
3.    What is your favorite Fall food?
This is a tough one because I seriously LOVE pumpkin everything (except PSLs...I think they're gross). I would probably say just straight up homemade pumpkin bread! It's the yummiest!
4.    Do you have any Fall traditions?
Steven and I ALWAYS do a pumpkin carving competition and I hate to say it, but the last few years he has beat me. We also love going to pumpkin stands or pumpkin patches and buying a ton of stuff to decorate!
5.    What is your favorite Fall outfit?
During fall, I am all about an easy sweater (or tee depending on the weather), blanket scarf, jeans, booties and a floppy hat. Who isn't?!
6.    Favorite fall movie?
This has to be the hardest question because I LOVE so many. I think I can narrow it down to Top 3 and it's definitely Practical Magic, Halloweentown, and Hocus Pocus. I already watched Practical Magic last weekend so Halloweentown and Hocus Pocus are next!
7.    Hot Chocolate or Warm Apple Cider?
Also a tough question because I LOVE Salted Caramel Hot Chocolates from Starbucks but I'd have to say that I typically go for the Caramel Apple Spice. It's a long favorite of my dad's so it always reminds me of him!
8.    What is your favorite Fall makeup look?
Warm browns/golds on the eyes and berry lips (REALLY loving Charlotte Tilbury "Bond Girl" right now)
9.    What is your favorite Fall candle scent?
Pumpkin Pie from Bath and Body Works. I'm all about the sweet scents and this one smells like actual pumpkin pie. I stock up on these every fall and burn them year round.
10. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Honestly, I'm less about Halloween candy and more about Halloween baked goods. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin breads, anything apple cinnamon flavored--those are all my jam.

Have a wonderful weekend lovies! Also for those of you being impacted by Hurricane Matthew--sending prayers your way! Stay safe!!

Perfect Fall Cardi + Fashion Frenzy Link-Up!

Cardigan: BP (sold out in this color, almost identical here), Tee: J. Crew (best white tee ever!), Jeans: Topshop, Booties: Aldo, Sunnies: Quay, Bag: Vince Camuto (sold out), Choker: Urban Outfitters
Happy Hump Day lovies! Hope your week is going well so far. I'm sort of bummed because I'm dropping Steven off at the airport right after I get this post up. He is going to Minneapolis for a research conference and will be there until Saturday. Maybe I'm just super dependent but I HATE when he goes out of town--even if it's just for a few days! Next month, he is going to San Francisco for another conference and I am beyond bummed I can't go with him to that one. I have every single vacation day planned from now until the wedding because I have to save up to take 2 weeks off! It's torture because I definitely need a vacation.

I can't believe this sweater is sold out because I feel like it wasn't that long ago when I purchased it! I have seen a bunch of other bloggers talk about it as well though so I guess it's not too surprising. I am obsessed with Bordeaux/burgundy for fall and when I say obsessed, I mean OBSESSED! Everything in this color is just drawing me in and I REALLY want a pair of boots in this color. Also, I have talked about these sunnies before but I think it's the first time they have made a debut on the blog. They are less than $60 and they're awesome quality. I love how oversized they are and the gold hardware. I highly recommend them if you're looking for a new pair of everyday sunnies!

Let's jump into the link-up! [Also linking up with The Blended Blog , Mix and Match Fashion, and Layers & Lipstick]

Fall Floral Dress (under $20!!)

Dress: SheIn (c/o), Hat: Old (similar here), Boots: Dolce Vita (old, almost identical here)
Happy Monday lovebugs! Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston, Style Elixir, Layers & Lipstick, and Trend Spin for today's post! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was exactly what I needed! We just relaxed Friday night and Saturday morning. I had my hair appointment late afternoon on Saturday and I'm so happy with how it turned out! This was a new salon and stylist and it was such a great experience. The salon is super cool--they have it set up where they have stations but they also have 2 color bars in the back that look like actual bars. You sit at the bar while the stylist mixes your color and they have big TVs you can watch while you're waiting and letting your color set. I'm so happy to have my dark hair back! It's definitely my personal favorite. Saturday night, we went to a restaurant that's right on the lake near our house and we watched the Clemson game with a few friends. What an awesome game! I still can't believe we won to be honest. Sunday, Steven and I went and got lunch outside because the weather was just gorgeous.

When SheIn reached out to me about collaborating, I was super excited because I have made a few purchases there in the past and I've been really happy with everything I've received. I saw this dress on their website and fell in LOVE! I knew when I saw it exactly how I wanted to style it. Floral is super in for fall and the colors in this pattern are to die for. The dress is really great quality and for the price you can't beat it! I think this dress would also look super cute under my suede moto jacket when it gets a little colder out. If you haven't checked out their site before, I definitely recommend it because they have a few great promos going on right now too!
I was gifted some items in this post, however all opinions are my own.
