Boho at the Beach + Cyber Monday Sales!

Sweater: Free People (also here)--on SALE, Turtleneck: Target, Jeans: Topshop, Hat: J. Crew, Booties: Vince Camuto
Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend and were able to spend time with your loved ones. Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston, Lauren M for Mix It Mondays , Style Elixir, and Trend Spin for today's post! Our weekend in Corolla was beyond relaxing and MUCH needed. I was working 12 hour days the week leading up to my time off so it was so great to just detox and spend time with family. The weather was actually pretty nice most of the time and we were able to go on long walks and let Toby run and swim! We did a little bit of outlet shopping but we pretty much just stayed around the house and the beach!

If y'all can get your hands on this sweater while it's on sale, I highly recommend it. I linked to it via two different websites because I do see that the sizes are selling out quickly! It's also 2 different prices. It is the PERFECT fall cardigan and is cozy enough to take you through winter too. I love that it's neutral and goes with almost any outfit.

Since I didn't do a Black Friday post, I wanted to share some of my favorite Cyber Monday sales with y'all because they're pretty awesome this year!

Styling a Dress for Fall + Fashion Frenzy Link-Up!

Dress: Madewell (on sale!), Hat: Nordstrom (old, similar here), Booties: Vince Camuto
Happy Wednesday loves! How excited are you that Thanksgiving is tomorrow?! I have a bunch of stuff to wrap up at work before we leave for the Outer Banks at lunchtime. I can't wait to share pictures from the beach! Even though it's going to be a little chilly, it's always so gorgeous to photograph! I'm going to be totally honest--I'm not a good cook at ALL but I really want to contribute something yummy to Thanksgiving dinner this year. If you guys have any suggestions for easy but good recipes I would love to hear!

This dress would actually be perfect for Thanksgiving especially if you live somewhere a little warmer. The temperature dropped about 30 degrees here in VA from the time I took these photos so I would definitely have to pair some tights and a coat over top if I was going to wear this dress in this weather!

I'm going to be missing Friday's post so I can totally soak up the time off and enjoy my family but I hope y'all have an AWESOME Thanksgiving! Make sure to join our link-up today and I'll see you guys Monday!

Your Not So Basic Sweater

Sweater: Romwe (c/o), Jeans: Topshop, OTK Boots: Steve Madden, Bag: Tory Burch, Hat: J. Crew (new FAVORITE)
Happy Monday y'all! Hope you had an awesome weekend. Mine was busier than expected but all in a good way! Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston and Lauren M for today's post. Friday night after I logged off from work, I went over to my aunt's house and went shopping with my cousins--one who is on break from college. It was nice because I had been at home alone most of the week! Saturday bright and early, Steven got home from San Francisco and I was so happy. We spent the whole day together and got some awesome brunch that included chicken and biscuits. Let me just say...they were AMAZING and totally worth every calorie. Sunday, I met one of my old co-workers for lunch and then did a little bit of Christmas shopping. Like I said--busy but all fun things!

I was super excited when Romwe reached back out to me about collaborating again. They have awesome pieces and a great price-point. This sweater really caught my eye--I love that it's a fun twist on a classic grey sweater. It's AWESOME quality and it's so cozy now that super cold weather is starting to roll in around here! Definitely check them out if you haven't already--they have really cute, trendy pieces but also some great basics/staples.

Gift Guide: Little Luxuries For Her

Watch, Candle, Velvet Bag, Tatcha Set, Mug, Agenda, Perfume
Happy Friday darlings! Hope you had a great week. I'm so glad it's about to be the weekend mainly because Steven gets home at 5am tomorrow! I can't wait to have him back. I'm pretty proud of myself--I think I did pretty well being home alone this week! I've talked before about how much I dread it. Planning to just spend the whole weekend with him and maybe get a tiny bit of packing done because we leave for the Outer Banks on Wednesday. I know it's going to be a little whacky on Monday and Tuesday at work so I'm not sure how much packing I'll be able to do those days!

This is the first of probably many gift guides but I wanted to start off with a collection of adorable little trinkets I have been seeing on different sites when looking for gifts for my mom, aunt, cousins, etc. First off, can we just talk about this velvet Rebecca Minkoff bag?! I really want it for myself but I'm not sold on the navy color. I don't like the black as much because the gold hardware is just to die for on the navy! Also, I saw this Tatcha set at Sephora last weekend and it looks AMAZING. I have been wanting to try their products for a while because I have such dry skin but they are a little pricey. This set seems like a really good value.

Have a wonderful weekend guys! xoxo

Boho in Black + Fashion Frenzy Link-Up!

Blouse: Zara (old, similar here and here), Denim: Topshop, Hat: Nordstrom (old, similar here), Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Booties: Aldo

Happy Wednesday y'all! Hope you're having a great week so far. Can you believe that next week is Thanksgiving?! Seriously, where is time going? I don't think I've mentioned this yet on the blog but we are actually going to the Outer Banks with my family for Thanksgiving from Wednesday through Sunday. I cannot WAIT! My Aunt has a beach house there so we have the opportunity to go in the off-season pretty often. Obviously it won't be tanning weather but it's nice to go there and just soak up the views and relax. Plus, if you have never heard of Duck Donuts, you're truly missing out. That's reason enough to make the trip!

I got this top last year from Zara and guys--I'm totally ashamed to say this but I completely forgot I purchased it (insert ashamed emoji). I am so glad that I found it because it is SUPER adorable and y'all know I'm loving boho everything right now. It's no longer being sold on Zara's site but I linked to a couple that are similar! Plus, you can always find really cute printed blouses at Zara year-round. I'm glad I keep finding all these hidden treasures in my closet because I really need to start buckling down and saving more for the wedding. I think reality is finally setting in!

The "It" Scarf for Fall

Sweater: H&M, Scarf: Free People. Denim: Articles of Society, Booties: Vince Camuto
Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was great and it felt nice and long with the extra day! Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston and Lauren M for today's post! We spent the weekend with family which was a blast then on Sunday I got lunch with Nicole (one of my besties/bridesmaids) who I haven't seen in a few months! I also got to meet her adorable new maltese puppy who seriously STOLE my heart. This weekend was just good for the soul and much needed! The only thing that stunk is Steven left yesterday morning for San Francisco and he'll be gone the whole week. I'll miss him a ton and I'm so jealous because I LOVE it there! It kind of sucks having to save up so much leave at work but it'll be worth it to take the 2 weeks off for the wedding.

I'm sure y'all have seen this scarf a ton on other bloggers and I just had to hop on the bandwagon. It's so cozy and I LOVE the color, however, I linked to a dupe in this post and I have to say that the quality is pretty much the same. I got the H&M version in grey and it's just as soft (if not softer) than the Free People one. If you're on a budget, definitely check out H&M. They have a bunch of color options too! Also y'all--this sweater is the softest one I've ever owned. I can't stop wearing it! H&M is killing it lately especially for the price.

When You're in a Style Funk

via
Hope y'all had a fabulous week! I'm actually off today which totally caught me off guard. Veteran's Day is one holiday that I always forget we observe at work so it was a super pleasant surprise! Today, I'm just planning on going to a spin class then totally treating myself and getting a manicure and a yummy latte.

Every few years I sort of get into a funk where I really dislike everything in my closet or at least the way that I'm styling it. This happened probably 3 years ago when I just felt really bored with everything I was wearing and now I'm getting that feeling again. I think I get into this mindset where I get afraid of super statement pieces and even though I think basics are so important, I definitely want to have way more fun with my wardrobe. Here are a couple tips that I follow personally when looking to "reinvent" my style:

1.) Dress and Purchase Intuitively-Really think about your style, your personality, what truly grabs your attention when it comes to fashion. Don't dress a certain way because it's the trend or because it's how your peers are dressing. Get in touch with your personal fashion sense that is a true expression of you!
2.) Get Inspired-Whenever I grow tired of how I'm dressing, I always find it helpful to go to other blogs or Pinterest or even get inspired by fashion from the past! Look at fashion from the 60's or 70's and also look at fashion worldwide. I also have been really into European fashion and blogs because I just love their classic style! I also love getting inspiration just by flipping through store magazines and seeing how the models are styled. The Anthropologie magazine is one of my favorites!
3.) Play with Prints & Patterns-Something that I feel like I'm lacking in my wardrobe is a lot of fun bright colors and fun prints. I think adding more of those elements into my every day style will really add fun dimension!
4.) Find Unique Pieces-When shopping, even though this goes against everything I always say about finding good basics, now I'm trying to find some really good STATEMENT pieces! A few stores that I always turn to when I want something truly "unique" and fun--Anthropologie (pretty much my favorite store especially recently), Asos, Zara, ModCloth. Those are just a few!
5.) Think Gradual-If you want to "revamp" your wardrobe, don't go out and buy a whole new wardrobe at once. Start gradually adding in pieces that are more fitted to the style you're aiming for. Also think about pieces that you can add that will work well with items you currently have in your cloest. Once you pair the two, it may give you the look you're going for! For example, if you have a plain black dress, think about a fun hat or scarf or belt to get a cool boho vibe.

Hope y'all enjoyed these tips! I'm excited to start changing up my style a little bit and sharing some really cool pieces with you on the blog!

Coziest Neutral Poncho + Fashion Frenzy Link-Up!

Poncho: Nordstrom Rack (super similar here and LOVE this one), Tee: J. Crew, Hat: Nordstrom (old, similar here), Jeans: Paige Denim, Booties: Vince Camuto
Happy Wednesday darlings! Can y'all believe the election is actually over? Not to get overly deep here but whether or not the election turned out your way, something that our pastor said at church this weekend was to take comfort in knowing that God endures as King forever and will always be there watching over us despite the outcome. That was super comforting for me and I hope it helps some of you to hear it!

I have been LOVING everything at the Nordstrom Rack near me lately and this poncho was an awesome find. I linked to a couple that are similar--one that is majorly catching my eye from Lulu's! Ponchos are so easy to throw on and automatically your outfit looks super trendy and cute. I love that this one is really neutral and can be paired over so many different bottoms and accessories. Also, not sure if you guys remember these boots from last year but you can find them still at Nordstrom Rack and DSW!

Fun Ruffle Sleeves

Top: SheIn (c/o), Jeans: Zara, Booties: Steve Madden, Sunnies: Quay, Bag: Vince Camuto (sold out, similar here)
Happy Monday loves! Hope y'all had a fabulous weekend. Mine was so perfect and relaxing! Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston for today's post! The weather was fall perfection here and the trees around our neighborhood just look extra gorgeous right now. We took a lot of long walks, ate at our favorite lunch spot "La Madeleine" and we also found a church that I think is "the one." Some of you might remember me mentioning that we've been searching for a while for the right church since moving to Virginia. This weekend we tried one near our house that I was skeptical about because it's HUGE. I thought it would be too big and too overwhelming but they have so many awesome small groups and the pastor was just wonderful. I'm so excited that we found one Steven and I both love and I can't wait to start getting involved with all of the holiday fellowship events and charities coming up!

I was so excited SheIn reached out to me again about collaborating. I am in LOVE with their clothes for fall and I thought this top was so much fun! If you guys want good quality clothes at a super affordable pricepoint I highly recommend them. They have great basics but they also have clothes that are super trendy like this top!

Splurge vs. Save (Fall Accessories)

Free People Scarf vs. H&M scarf, Rag & Bone Hat vs. Billabong Hat, B-low the Belt vs. UO belt, Celine Sunglasses vs. Lulu's Sunglasses
Happy Friday  y'all! Hope you had a wonderful week. This one was definitely better than last but I'm still glad it's about to be the weekend! We don't have too many plans but Saturday I am getting lunch and going to see The Girl on the Train with my friend/bridesmaid, Nicole. I haven't seen her in what feels like forever so I'm super excited! Sunday, I'll just be spending time with Steven doing a little more wedding planning and research. He is actually going to be out of town for a week starting next weekend so just trying to soak up time with him.

I have been find all sorts of good dupes lately which is what sparked the idea for this post! The first I found was a dupe for the B-low the Belt belt. I got a one-buckle dupe from Urban Outfitters that I wore in my last post but if you like more of a statement, here is a double-buckle that is almost identical and a fraction of the cost. Also, I got this Free People scarf last week in the lighter beige color and I am BEYOND obsessed. I have already worn it 3 or 4 times. When I saw H&M had an almost identical version, I knew I had to get it in the grey color. I haven't received it yet but it looks just as soft as the Free People scarf! I'll keep you guys posted on my thoughts.

What are your plans for this weekend?!

Cropped Turtleneck + Fashion Frenzy Link-Up!

Sweater: Express (sold out, similar here and here), Jeans: Topshop, Belt: Urban Outfitters, Booties: Aldo, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Happy Wednesday lovebugs! Hope your weeks are going well so far. I'm finally starting to feel a little bit better but I just can't totally kick this cold! On another note, can y'all believe that it's already November? I seriously don't know where time is going. I feel like I didn't even get to fully enjoy October and now it's gone!

I picked up this Express cropped turtleneck during one of their 40% off everything sales a couple weeks ago and I LOVE it. I noticed that it sold out already but I linked to one pretty similar that comes in a gorgeous mauve color and black. My only issue with this turtleneck is it's pretty itchy--the ones I linked to look like they might be a softer material! They also have a sale going on right now where if you buy one sweater, you get the second one for $19.90 so it's a pretty good deal. They have an awesome selection right now!

Jumping into the link-up! [Also linking up with The Blended Blog and Layers & Lipstick]

--Just an update--I saw they restocked the V-neck version of this turtleneck here!
