Happy Friday y'all! Coming at you guys today with another wedding post and I am so excited to be writing this one because we are officially less than 3 months out. I don't know how many times I can say time flies but y'all--it REALLY has just flown by. When Steven and I got engaged, we were 21 months out so now to be at just a couple months is pretty insane.
At this point obviously all of our vendors are booked. We did have a little bit of a hiccup with the officiant situation but it is all worked out now! I made a HUGE "master to-do list" for the next few months and I'm actually thinking about creating a template from this list so I can share it with any of you bride-to-be's. I have found it so helpful to just go in and cross things off this massive list. Between now and the wedding it's really just getting some of the smaller decor items, collecting RSVPs and working on the seating chart, finalizing everything with my vendors, plus enjoying my 3 upcoming bridal showers and Bachelorette party! This weekend I have my hair and make-up trial plus my very first dress fitting so that's exciting. I'm also going to test out a traveling spray-tan company this month. I love the idea of someone coming to your house to give you a spray-tan! Totally worth the money.
Also--have any of y'all tried lash extensions?! I want to get them this month and just get refills up until the wedding but I'm sort of nervous because I've read horror stories about people having a bad reaction to the glue. Would love to hear your thoughts if you've had them!
My 5 Wedding Tips (90 days out edition)
>>Seriously--Google Docs for the win! I talked about this in my last wedding post but I have used Google Docs so much! Aside from being able to share the documents with Steven or my parents so we can all work off of and update one sheet, I also love that I can access my guest list on any of my devices. Whether I'm on our desktop, my laptop or my phone, I can always just log into my email and pull up the most updated list.
>>Don't put it off! If there is something that you can get done earlier on in the planning process, definitely DO IT. Don't put it off because then everything will start to pile up at the end and the last 3 months are already going to be jam-packed. Unfortunately some things have to wait like ordering table numbers, putting your seating chart together, picking out your menu etc. Anything I could do in advance I did and I'm so glad I did because now I fee like I can really enjoy my showers/Bach party without feeling crazy overwhelmed.
>>Ask him for help! I think [most] men are the same in that they want to be involved when it comes to certain things like uh.....FOOD. The end lol. But there have been times where I really need Steven's help or his opinion and I've noticed the more I've gotten him involved, the more he LIKES being involved. The first portion of our engagement I really was doing everything but these last few months have been SO much fun and SO exciting because Steven has gotten way more involved. It's his day too after all!
>>Let the vendors guide you! Obviously you don't want to compromise your own vision but something that has not only alleviated stress but also just really helped piece together my entire theme/vision was listening to the vendors and not being too opinionated. I went in to each meeting with each vendor and had a general idea of what I wanted but I let them give me their input and suggestions. They all gave me ideas that I never would have come up with and I just can't wait to see how it all turns out. They're the professionals for a reason!
>>Don't try to please everyone! I am 100% a people-pleaser. It's a blessing and a curse but when it comes to wedding planning I've had to accept that yes, people may have their own opinions but at the end of the day it's only about what Steven and I want!
Hope y'all enjoyed this wedding update! Have a wonderful weekend!
