Happy Wednesday guys! Hope you had a very Merry Christmas and enjoyed time with friends and family. For those of y'all that follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that on Friday I came down with a horrible stomach virus and pretty much was in bed from Friday to Sunday. Finally Sunday night I started to feel normal and thank goodness on Christmas day I was always completely back to healthy! Even though that put a huge damper on my weekend, I'm glad I was at least able to enjoy Christmas with the family. We had such a fun day and it was extra special for Steven and I as our first married Christmas! Would love to hear what y'all did for the holidays in the comments.

This coat I bought during one of J. Crew's big sales and it was SUCH a great purchase. I have been wanting a red coat for years but  I thought that I really wouldn't wear such a bold coat as often as I have. Since you guys know I wear almost only neutrals, this red coat is the perfect statement and honestly goes with every single item in my wardrobe! If you're a neutral gal like me but are looking for a fun, classic pop of color, I think you really need a red coat.

Hey guys--I had every intention of getting this up for you yesterday but unfortunately I came down with a pretty bad stomach flu and was TOTALLY out of commission all day. This morning I'm feeling a little bit better but still pretty crappy. Hoping I'll be totally back to normal tomorrow or at least by Christmas day.

Since we still have 2 more days until Christmas, I wanted to share some SUPER last minute gift ideas that you can definitely grab from your local mall! Most of these items are carried by several different retailers so no matter where you live, you should be able to find them or at least something similar!

An Edgier Christmas Look + FF Link-Up!

Happy Wednesday! Hope y'all are having a great week so far. Mine has been BEYOND busy but I actually got a nice little break from the usual grind last night when I went to a Wine & Paint night with a few co-workers. If y'all have never been to one I HIGHLY recommend it. We had such a blast and it's something I've been wanting to do for a while. Plus I think my painting turned out pretty cute!

For my "Christmas" look this year I wanted to do something a little bit more my style and less traditional. As much as I LOVE a good bright red, this berry skirt was just calling to me and I like that it's not QUITE as bold as wearing a true red skirt. I also felt like adding the moto jacket would make it a little bit more edgy and fun. Probably not a look to wear to church service but definitely one you can wear to family dinner or going out with friends!

Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a great weekend. Ours was super relaxing and fun! Steven and I went for dinner and to see the new Star Wars movie on Saturday night then Sunday I grabbed coffee with one of my good friends Allison. Steven is a HUGE Star Wars fan so he was way more critical about the movie than I was. He didn't really like it but honestly I loved it haha! But I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan to begin with. If any of y'all saw it I would love to know what you thought!

I have to say this coat was one of my best purchases from last year because it's super on trend for this season. I have gotten a TON of use out of it now that the temperature has dropped and the thing I love about it most is the oversized style of it. It's the perfect size to layer over another jacket or heavy knits. Even though it's no longer sold, the one I linked to from this season is GORGEOUS and I'm honestly tempted to buy it too!

Happy Wednesday loves! Hope you're having a great week so far. Mine has been pretty busy--there are some big changes to come in 2018 which I will share more about later this month! How are y'all doing with your holiday shopping? I honestly feel like I'm super behind. I have about half done!

This chenille sweater is SO soft and I absolutely love the color. I have mixed feelings about chenille. sometimes I LOVE it and sometimes I feel like it looks a little cheap. This sweater is DEFINITELY a good one and it's also inexpensive considering the quality. I also have fallen back in love with this fur vest from Zara a couple years ago! Even though it's old, I linked to one almost identical from this year.

Happy Monday! Hope you guys had a great weekend. Ours was SUPER COLD! It snowed almost 5 inches on Saturday which is really odd for this time of year. Typically the DC-metro gets most snow in January/February and December is pretty mild. It's making me worried for what is to come! My cousin did still stay with us and we had a blast Christmas shopping, watching Christmas movies, etc.

I honestly don't know if I've loved any blog look as much as I love this one. Something about the big oversized sweater, the red lip and the mom jeans! I feel like this is my favorite kind of style and a look that I just totally gravitate towards. It's effortless but I think adding a pointy-toe bootie and a red lip makes it look like you put in way more effort than you did! Y'all definitely need these jeans too. If you're looking to get on the mom jean trend these are a great price and a great fit!
