New Video - Styling Spring Trends 2018

Happy Friday loves! Hope you had a great week and have some fun weekend plans ahead. We had such a long busy week and also got some super exciting news that I can't wait to share with y'all in the coming weeks. This weekend we are going to be celebrating my birthday + Easter with family which I'm definitely looking forward to. We have been experiencing GORGEOUS weather here the last few days so I'm hoping it continues into the weekend!

I honestly haven't been in the mood to film videos much this month so sorry that this is the first one I am getting up for March (literally on the last day haha). I'm definitely back into the swing of it now and will try to get up 2 videos for April! This video is sharing my favorite 5 spring trends for 2018 and I also show how I plan to style them for the season.

Hope y'all enjoy and have a great weekend!
xoxo

The Cutest Striped Bodysuit + FF Link-Up!

Bodysuit: Asos, Jeans: J. Crew, Sunnies: Ray-Ban, Bag: Etsy (identical here and here), Shoes: Vince Camuto (similar here)
Happy Wednesday loves! Hope y'all are having a great week so far. This has definitely been a busy one! Thank you to everyone who sent me sweet birthday wishes on here and Instagram. I really appreciate y'all so much.

This has to be one of my favorite looks I've posted in a while! This bodysuit is SO cute and I love it paired with my favorite high-waisted jeans. Definitely gives that boho vibe that I love while still being super easy and wear-able which I also love! Also--if you haven't picked up a straw bag yet for spring/summer, I highly recommend this little round bag. It's perfect for on the go and so adorable!

29 Things I've Learned in 29 Years!

Happy Monday y'all! Hope you had a great weekend. Today I turned 29 and honestly can't believe I'm encroaching on 30! I feel like I will forever feel 21. I have to say that 28 was a great year for me and I'm sort of sad to see it leave!

1.)  BE KIND. It will get you so far. The end.
2.) Trust in God's plan for your life--literally let Jesus take the wheel!
3.) Be true to yourself in all areas of your life.
4.) Splurge on good basics and good bags.
5.) The classics never go out of style.
6.) Stay Creative--always have an outlet for your creativity (start a blog, take an art class, etc.)
7.) Working out isn't just about looking good--it does wonders for your mental health.
8.) Girl's weekends are SO good for the soul!
9.) Quality Over Quantity-whether it's friends, handbags, or food...this is a mantra for me.
10.) Never take your relationship with your family for granted!
11.) Expensive shampoo is more expensive for a reason...it's BETTER.
12.) Focus on YOU and don't compare yourself to others.
13.) It's worth eating healthy 85% of the time so you can eat 15% cookies LOL.
14.)  Unplug as much as you can on the weekends (whether it be from work, social media, etc.)
15.) Take care of your skin! We only get one face, people!
16.)  To my future brides reading this--don't let the stress of planning take away from how special your big day will be. Everything will fall into place!
17.)  When given the choice, spend money on experiences over material things. Life is short y'all!
18.) Be open-minded and compassionate. This world needs a little bit more compassion!
19.) ALWAYS treat your parents with love and respect.
20.) Don't settle--whether this be in a relationship, in your job, etc. You deserve happiness.
21.) Don't stay angry or hold grudges. It's such a waste of time and energy.
22.) Embrace change.
23.) Going back to #1...being kind doesn't mean you have to be a pushover!
24.) Hug and hold your grandparents so close to your heart while you have them. I unfortunately lost all of mine during my twenties and I wish every day I had more time!
25.)  Don't drink your calories.
26.) Try so hard to have a positive attitude. Attitude seriously makes all the difference!
27.) Dogs are life.
28.) Don't beat yourself up over failures. Learn from them and move on.
29.) Everything happens for a reason--100% cliche but also 100% true.

If y'all read this whole post--I'm super impressed and very much appreciate you lol. Hope y'all have a great rest of your day!!

Creams & Nudes + FF Link-Up!

Sweater: H&M, Jeans: Topshop, Earrings: Sugarfix, Pumps: BCBG, Sunnies: Ray-Ban
Happy Wednesday! Hope y'all are having a great week so far. I'm publishing this post from my bed because we've had some super icky weather the last two days in the DC area! We had freezing rain yesterday and snow that started last night into this morning so it has been a great start to spring. My birthday is on Monday and the last few years the weather has just been total crap around my birthday! Definitely so ready for some spring weather.

We shot this outfit when we had a brief spell of warm weather so I'm jealous of y'all that can rock a light sweater and minimal layers right now! I love a super simple cream/white sweater especially for transitioning your outfits into spring. This one was a great price and it has already gotten so much wear for casual looks and for work!

3 Yummy Smoothie Bowl Ideas!

Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a great weekend. We had such a nice and relaxing one! Friday night we stayed in and watched "47 Meters Down" on Netflix. Holy moly! It will definitely make you super anxious and the ending was pretty unexpected. Saturday night we went bowling with my bestie and her boyfriend so that was a super fun double-date! Its been forever since I've been bowling and y'all--I suck haha! Both Saturday and Sunday morning I went to the gym and I have been adding resistance bands to a lot of my work-outs. If y'all are looking for a way to make your work-outs a little bit more challenging, I definitely recommend resistance bands! I got mine from Amazon. They're also great for at-home work-outs!

If you follow me on Instagram than you probably have seen me post about my love for smoothie bowls a thousand times. I wanted to share 3 of my favorites to make depending on my mood! I use my Ninja blender and 1 frozen banana for all of them:

1.) Green Smoothie Bowl
--Handful of Spinach
--1 Banana
--Almond Butter
--Almond Milk
--About 1 tbsp of honey
I typically top this smoothie with a peanut butter-flavored granola, chia seeds, raspberries and bananas!

2.) Tropical Smoothie Bowl
--Frozen Mixed Fruit (I buy the kind that has mango, peaches, strawberries and bananas)
--1 Banana
--Peanut Butter (about a spoonful)
--1/2 a cup of Trop50
I typically top this smoothie with almond/vanilla granola, strawberries, fresh mango slices

3.) Berry-licious Smoothie Bowl
--Frozen Berry Mix (usually has blackberries, raspberries, blueberries)
--1 Banana
--Small handful of spinach
--Almond Butter
--Almond Milk
--About 1 tbsp of honey
I typically top this bowl with fresh blueberries, strawberries, pomegranate and chia seeds

I hope this gave you guys some smoothie-bowl inspo. They're pretty simple but sometimes the simplest smoothies are the best tasting! I used to add protein powders to my smoothies but unfortunately I recently discovered I have a dairy intolerance. If y'all have any protein powders you love that are dairy/whey-free then I would love to hear in the comments!

My Top 5 Favorite Recent Purchases!

Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was super nice and relaxing especially after a long week of battling a cold! Saturday I grabbed Bartaco with one of my besties, Nicole, that I haven't seen in FOREVER so that was so great to catch up. I went to the gym Saturday night then Steven and I stayed in and watched Jumanji which was SO adorable if y'all haven't already seen it. I highly recommend for a super lighthearted, funny watch! Steve left for Boston last night for an interview and will be HOPEFULLY back tomorrow if weather permits. I guess we will see how this big storm plays out!

I have picked up so many cute goodies to help transition my wardrobe into the spring season and I thought I would share my top 5 recent purchases with y'all for today's post!

Main Image - Sam Edelman Navya Woven Loafer Mule (Women)
1.) Sam Edelman Navya Mules--not only are these the MOST comfortable flats I've ever owned, they are SO darn cute. I love that they're gold and will go with absolutely anything! These will be perfect for long walks around Miami in April.

2.) Chloe Marcie--I have been wanting this bag for the LONGEST time. Chloe bags are just my absolute favorite designer handbags. I feel like they perfectly match my style because even though they are very classic, they have major boho vibes which I'm all about! I bought mine through Fashionphile (so this is my second purchase through them) and would love do a review and talk about my experience buying pre-loved designer bags if you'd be interested! Let me know in the comments.

3.) J. Crew High-Rise Jeans with Button Fly--These jeans have become an instant classic in my wardrobe and they're on sale right now! They have been going in and out of stock a lot but definitely keep tabs on them if you're looking for a good pair of high-waisted jeans. I LOVE the retro feel of them with the button fly detail!
Main Image - WAYF Posie Strappy Camisole
4.) Wayf Posie Strappy Camisole--I am a big cami collector! I just love them all year round under jackets, sweaters, blazers, and just on their own during the warmer months. They definitely are a closet staple/basic in my wardrobe. These are SO gorgeous and I love that the pretty lace and criss-cross detail. I got mine in "Grey Micro" but definitely want at least one or two more colors!
Main Image - Free People Intimately FP Adella Longline Bralette
5.) Free People Adella Bralette--I'm sure y'all have been seeing this bralette all over social media and it really is SO good! Not only is it super adorable, it's actually really comfortable while still giving the girls "support." I'm pretty small chested so I'm not sure how it would work for those of y'all with larger chests but I definitely would give it a try! It looks so cute under my slouchy sweaters, thermals, and also just spices up a plain white tee.

My Go-To Outfit + FF Link-Up!

Cardigan: Free People, Henley: Out from Under, Jeans: J. Crew, Booties: Vince Camuto (Similar here), Necklace: The Styled Collection, Earrings: Sugarfix, Bag: Etsy (identical here)
Happy Wednesday y'all! Hope you're having a great week so far. I'm still feeling pretty under the weather so just counting down the days until I can be curled up in bed!

This outfit has pretty much been my uniform lately. I am LIVING in this cardigan and these jeans especially. If you're looking for a great pair of high-waisted jeans, I highly recommend them. I know they're a tad pricey but I actually bought them when J. Crew was running a 30% off sale plus used reward points so they ended up being a great deal! In the past, typically J. Crew jeans haven't worked for me. It seemed like I was between sizes because for some reason they would be too baggy around my calves/ankles. I was so pleased that these worked out because I love the button-up detail!

My Favorite Every-Day Lippies!

Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a great weekend. Ours was fun but SUPER busy! Saturday around lunchtime we did the Escape Room for Steven's birthday. It was actually so fun and I'm glad I bought tickets to the Star Wars themed room because Steven LOVED it (nerd alert)! After that I got my nails done and did the SNS dip for the first time and I really love it. Supposedly it's better for your nails and lasts way longer than gel so we will see! That night we went out to eat with my family also as a belated-birthday celebration for Steven. Unfortunately Sunday I started to feel like I was coming down with something and now today it's a full-blown cold!

Anyway--jumping into today's post: I owe this post idea to Katherine from One Swainky Couple! She was super sweet and suggested that I do a post on my favorite lipsticks after my IG round-up last week. I have SUCH a huge collection but I stick to pretty similar shades for every-day! I typically prefer a nude that has either brown, peach or mauve undertones. I find those to be the most flattering for my skintone.
My Top 5 Favorites are:
Pixi by Petra "Matte Beige"--such a gorgeous brownish pink nude. SO comfortable to wear!
Nars "Barbara"-the perfect brown nude with a little bit of peach. VERY creamy formula!
Marc Jacobs "Slow Burn"-the perfect mauve lip! Also a very creamy formula.
BareMinerals "Om"-super comfortable liquid lip. Very brown nude--probably the most brown of the bunch!
Mac "Velvet Teddy"-comfortable matte brown nude. Very 90's!
Hope y'all enjoyed this post! I know some of these lipstick shades are probably a little bit redundant. I might have  a slight addiction to brownish nudes. They're all gorgeous though and have very different formulas! Even if you don't try these specific shades, I HIGHLY recommend all of these brands and formulas. They're all very comfortable, long-lasting lippies!
PS-I wear all of these with either Mac "Stripdown" liner, Mac "Whirl," or Charlotte Tilbury "Iconic Nude" liner.

Shopbop Sale Picks!

Happy Friday! Hope y'all had a great week and have some fun weekend plans ahead. I'm excited because for Steven's birthday gift I signed us up for an Escape Room on Saturday so I think it should be really fun! I've never done one before so I would love to hear if y'all have and how you liked it.

Shopbop has always been one of my favorite online retailers because I just love their selection of brands. They are a little pricey so this sale is such a great one to take advantage of! I put this list together a few days ago so I'm hoping most of my picks are still in stock! I, myself, ordered these gorgeous Sam Edelman gold mules and also this adorable Faithfull dress.

To take advantage of the sale use code GOBIG18 for 15% off $200+, 20% off $500+, or 25% off 800+!

Have a great weekend and I hope those of y'all that are further north stay super safe and warm during this crazy weather!
