The Perfect Summer Tank + FF Link-Up!

Tank: Caslon, Jeans: Articles of Society, Mules: Sole Society, Bag: Amazon, Sunnies: Ray-Ban, Earrings: J. Crew
Happy Wednesday loves! Hope you're having a great week so far. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that Steven officially received his PhD yesterday and is Dr. Roberts now! After 5.5 years of hard work it is SUCH a big accomplishment. We went out for dinner and drinks last night to celebrate and it was a blast. Now we just have the next big adventure ahead of us--moving!

I LOVE finding good basics and this tank is such a great one. I love how swingy it is and the waffle-knit texture of it. This is one of those pieces you could tie in a knot or tuck in the front to add a little something extra to the look but I decided just to wear it loose and flowy for today's post!

Loft 40% Off Fitting Room Try-On!

Obsessed with this tank! Wearing a size S but probably could have used an XS in this one!
This top absolutely came home with me! Love the color and the fit. Wearing a size XS!
This dress would be perfect for a summer wedding! They didn't have my size (XS) otherwise I would have definitely purchased!
Love these pants! They are so comfy. I'm wearing a size XS.
This top is so cute and breezy! Love the lace detail. Unfortunately sold out online but this one is SO similar.
This sweater tank stole my heart! I love a good, neutral tank like this for summer. This one of course came home with me!
Hope y'all are enjoying your Memorial Day! I did an impromptu try-on session on IG stories today and wanted to share everything I tried on/purchased on the blog today while it's all still 40% off! Would love to hear in the comments if you enjoy posts like this and I can definitely keep doing them.
PS--these are the denim shorts I'm wearing in most photos. OBSESSED

Nordstrom Half- Yearly Sale Picks!

Shift DressEspadrillesPeasant DressFloral TopDenimMules, Crossbody

Happy Friday loves! Hope y'all had a great week and have some fun plans ahead for the long weekend. Unfortunately for us (and I think most of the East Coast) this weekend is going to be a complete wash-out so I can kiss my plans of sunbathing at the pool goodbye! Most of the weekend more than likely will be spent packing and purging our house. We are trying so hard to get as much done as soon as possible to alleviate last minute stress!

I always get so excited for Nordstrom sales because not only are the prices great but there are SO many items included in the sale. It was hard to narrow down which ones were my favorite! Right now I have this Free People dress and white mules in my cart. I have been dying for a pair of cute white shoes for summer and I am ALL about mules!

Do y'all have any fun plans for the weekend?!

"Twist" on Basics + FF Link-Up!

Top: Loft, Jeans: American Eagle, Bag: Chloe, Mules: Sole Society, Earrings: J. Crew
Happy Wednesday loves! Sorry that I missed my post on Monday. I always HATE missing posts but sometimes I just get major writers block over the weekend and it was definitely one of those weekends! I think my mind is just all over the place with the move coming up. This weekend was super fun though--on Saturday I got brunch with two of my besties then we spent the rest of the day relaxing. Sunday the weather was actually SO nice which we were beyond excited about after a full week of rain and thunderstorms. We went for a nice long run with the pup and it was just gorgeous. All the flowers are in bloom and I am LOVING it!

I love when you can take a basic tee or just a plain shirt and make it look totally different by adding a cute little knot, twist or tie. This plain OTS top is adorable but it just doesn't sit quite right at the waist. That's why I decided to add this fun little knot! Just adds a little something extra.

Home Office Inspo!

Happy Friday loves! Hope you had a great week and have some fun weekend plans ahead. I am grabbing lunch with friends tomorrow but the rest of the weekend will probably be spent packing and cleaning out the house! We're really trying our best to condense everything to bring to Boston.

As I mentioned in my post about our Boston move, I am SO fortunate that I get to stay on board with my current company in my current role. This means I will be working 100% from home so with that, our second bedroom will be half a guest room and half an office. We have an office now but we hardly use it and our desk is practically falling apart so that won't be coming with us to Boston! I saw this desk and absolutely LOVE it then started finding pieces that I thought would look cute but would also be super functional for my job at home.

Have a great weekend!

Gingham & Denim + FF Link-Up!

Shirt: J. Crew, Skirt: Lulus, Sandals: SheIn (identical here), Hat: South Moon Under (Similar here), Bag: Etsy (identical here and here)
Happy Wednesday friends! Hope you're having a great week so far. I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of the sweet comments on Monday's post! We are very excited/nervous/so many emotions about the move and y'all were so sweet and supportive. I definitely will be sharing more about the move as it gets closer and have already started planning how I will decorate our Boston apartment!

If there is one thing you NEED from this post, it's this denim skirt! I have never owned a denim skirt that is so stretchy, flattering and comfortable. It comes in a darker color too and I'm seriously tempted to add that one to my closet as well! Also, these tie-waist tops from J. Crew Factory are very inexpensive and are adorable for work. Aside from the gingham, I got one in plain white and also in blue and white stripes! Button-ups are always a great staple year-round.

Our Big Announcement--We're Moving!

Hey loves! Happy Monday. I’m going to just jump right into today’s post because it’s going to be a long one. As you can tell from the title, we are moving! We knew this day might come with Steven graduating his PhD program in June but we weren’t totally sure where that would take us. There was about a 50/50 shot of us staying in the DC area because we knew an opportunity would present itself here but Steven received an incredible offer and an opportunity that we could not pass up which will be taking us to…..Boston! If y’all remember we visited Boston last month very briefly and that was actually to go apartment hunting. We were lucky enough while there to find something opening up in July which is when we will be relocating and we really do love the area and the apartment itself!

To say that this has been a very emotional and challenging decision would be an understatement. Not only do we have our home in Virginia but we also have my parents and other close relatives nearby, many of my friends, and of course my job. Even though I knew this was a very strong possibility, I don’t think I ever really expected us to leave so soon. I thought maybe in 5 or so more years we would relocate but not only 2 years after moving into our house.  Sometimes you can make plans but really only God has control and the offer Steven received is a once in a lifetime opportunity and honestly kind of beyond his wildest dreams! I’m SO proud of him. He has busted his butt for the last 6 years in a very intensive Bioengineering program and seeing such hard work pay-off is really exciting.

I knew that when we got married, it would be a lot of following him with each new opportunity because his field is very niche while with my profession I can work almost anywhere. I did receive AMAZING news last week that I will be able to retain my current job after relocating. I can't even tell you how happy I was when I found out! I started a new role in January of this year and I have LOVED it so the thought of leaving this job behind and starting a new one seriously weighed on my heart. To get to stay on and work from home is the biggest blessing!

Even though we’re almost 30 I feel like this was the first big adult decision we’ve made (especially as a married couple) because we really were starting to grow roots here in Virginia and we felt very comfortable. It definitely involved a lot of long conversations and tears but at this stage we are so excited for the move and the next adventure in our marriage! We will see how things progress but as of now we believe we will be in Boston for the next 2-3 years and then possibly moving on to a new location after that. We definitely intend to take full advantage of our time in Boston with lots of sightseeing, weekend trips to all the gorgeous New England cities, Red Sox games, lobster rolls and more!

I’ll definitely be sharing more about our move as it gets closer but for now, we can’t wait for this next journey!

My Favorite Devotionals

Happy Friday loves! I hope you had a great week and have some fun weekend plans ahead. We're pretty much planning to spend the whole weekend with family celebrating Mother's Day so that will be fun! I'm just hoping the weather holds up because the trend lately has been that it will be super nice during the week but then so gross and rainy on the weekend. The worst!

This post is a little bit different from my usual content but once I cut back my outfit posts to only once a week I promised that I would start switching things up! As a Christian, I love finding great biblical resources and daily devotionals. It's so uplifting to read about the Lord first thing in the morning or during my quiet time in the evening. I have gone through many devotionals--some that I loved more than others. Today I wanted to share a few of my favorites and why I love them so much!

1.) Embraced by Lysa TerKeurst--This one is my most recent addition but I REALLY love it. I think the main reason I like this one so much is because of the author's real, daily life application which makes it so easy to relate. Definitely a breeze to read and so uplifting for your daily dose of the Word.
2.) New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp--I have been reading this one on and off over the last year or so and I really do love it! Each page has a new lesson and they also provide you with supporting biblical references that you can read with each daily lesson. I think that's the reason I enjoy it so much--it helps me apply lessons directly from the bible every day!
3.) His Princess-Love Letters from your King by Sheri Rose Shepherd--This was one of the first devotionals I ever purchased in my adult life and I feel like especially as someone who was newly getting to know the Lord in a more deep and meaningful way, it was the perfect devotional. Every day is written like a "Love Letter" from the Lord and they are so meaningful and beautifully written!
4.) Jesus Calling by Sheri Young--This one is similar to the "His Princess" series where it is written like a letter from the Lord but I will say that I personally prefer the His Princess devotional a little bit more. This one is also great though and would be perfect to carry around in your purse for a little daily reminder of Jesus' love.

Hope y'all enjoyed this post! Just a reminder to stop back here on Monday for our big announcement:) Have a great weekend!

Comfy Coral Pants + FF Link-Up!

Blazer: Old (similar here), Camisole: J. Crew, Pants: Leith, Wedges: Treasure & Bond, Earrings: J. Crew
Happy Wednesday loves! Hope y'all are having a great week so far. Things have been pretty crazy lately and I actually have a big announcement that I'll be making here on the blog on Monday so make sure to stay tuned for that! It has definitely been long awaited to share the news with y'all.

When I saw these pants on Nordstrom's site, I could tell right off the bat that they would be super comfortable while still very flattering and I was correct! They are baggier and so soft which makes them incredibly effortless and comfortable to wear but because they have the slimmer cut at the ankle they still elongate your legs and look pretty sleek. I really want to order them in at least one other color because not only are they great for work, but they're adorable with a cami or tank if you just want to wear them casually or dress them up for date night!

Miami Trip Recap--What We Did & Where We Ate

Happy Monday loves! Hope you had a fabulous weekend. As promised, today I am doing a recap of our Miami trip! We had SUCH a blast and definitely plan to go back soon. We stayed in the Coconut Grove part of Miami and honestly I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else! There were so many restaurants, gorgeous views, shopping, etc. and it was just an easy Uber ride to downtown Miami. We honestly spent most of our time in the Coconut Grove area though because we just LOVED it. Highly recommend staying there if you are planning a trip to Miami!
Outfit for traveling down to Miami! This dress is SO comfortable and was perfect for landing in a warmer climate!
First stop was brunch and drinks at Peacock Garden Bistro! This was super close to our AirBnB and the food was so yummy. Plus check out this "tropical" mimosa!
The view from our Airbnb pool was gorgeous and so was the view from our room! We stayed right on the bay.
Steven and I both agreed that dinner at Jaguar on our first night was the best food we've ever had! Even if you're not staying in Coconut Grove, you need to make a trip there just to eat at Jaguar. The ceviche and fish tacos were PHENOMENAL!
We kicked off Day 2 by spending the morning at the pool with drinks and gorgeous weather!
Friday was actually the only day it rained in the afternoon so we paid a visit to Vizcaya Museum which was also super convenient to our AirBnB. This is a GORGEOUS estate of businessman John Deering and you an tour the entire house and the beautiful gardens/grounds surrounding.
I actually think it was even prettier and more serene in the rain!
Once the rain cleared up Steven and I ventured out again and found another AWESOME restaurant in the Coconut Grove area. It's called The Spillover and they had awesome oysters, drinks and great crab cakes! It did start pouring again so we ended up wrapping up the night at our hotel's rooftop bar.
Saturday we headed to South Beach for the day! I wore this dress which was SO comfortable and definitely will be on repeat all summer.
Y'all...when I say we had the BEST food on this trip I'm not kidding! We grabbed lunch at Naked Taco in South Beach and omg. I seriously have had dreams about these tacos since then! It was also just a super fun vibe and really easy to walk to from Ocean Drive.
After walking around South Beach all day we headed back to our hotel and relaxed until dinner time. For dinner on Saturday we went to Farinelli 1937. They had great Italian food/wine and this was probably my favorite atmosphere of all the restaurants. Just a gorgeous outdoor area surrounded by trees with string lights throughout. Definitely romantic!
Sunday was my favorite day exploring the Wynwood Art District! The Wynwood Walls are SO cool and all of the little shops/restaurants surrounding the area are too. Definitely a spot you have to visit while there!
Just a block down from the Wynwood Walls we stumbled upon this market filled with different food trucks and other vendors! They had gorgeous handmade jewelry, clothing, etc. We grabbed yummy Mediterranean food here and drinks!
The Salty Donut was one spot on my list to visit and we were so excited when we realized it was just a few blocks down from the Wynwood Walls! These donuts were AMAZING and there was actually a line out the door. We clearly weren't counting calories this trip!
Drinks at our hotel's rooftop bar to celebrate our 1 Year Anniversary and our last night in Miami!

We had the best time on our trip! I hope you enjoyed this little recap.
xoxo
