Flower Picking & Colorblock Knits + Link-Up!

Sweater-Vici (sold out, similar here and here), Jeans, Booties, Sunglasses

Happy Wednesday friends! I hope you're having a great week so far. The temps went up the last few days but they're about to drop to the 60's for the forseeable future so it's officially sweater weather in the DC area! We're definitely planning on taking advantage this weekend and the following we're actually doing a small weekend trip to the Blue Ridge mountains for leaf-peeping and hiking. I'm very excited!

A couple of weekends ago we visited a local farm for apple picking and they also had a small field of wildflowers you were allowed to pick from. We also scooped up a good amount of veggies and raspberries! It was such a fun little outing and my wildflowers are actually all still alive in a vase on my dining table. I have been dying to wear this sweater since I bought it but unfortunately, it is sold out. I linked to some very similar and affordable options & also linked to the original posting for this sweater because Vici does regularly restock their items.

My Favorite Under $30 Wine + Link-Up!

Guys--I am REALLY excited about today's post! It's a little different for me especially for my Wednesday content. I don't know why I never thought to do a post about my favorite wines especially since wine is a very big passion of mine (not in a "it's a problem kind of way lol). We are really fortunate that where we live we have access to SO many wineries within an hour or two. There are a bunch of great wineries north of us in/around Frederick, MD and there are TONS in the mid-lower part of VA. When we lived in VA visiting a vineyard was one of our favorite weekend outings!

We had a trip booked to Napa last year but ended up canceling since our move from Boston overlapped with the trip. At this rate, once travel is open, I think we should just go big and go to Tuscany! Ok anyway--diving into the actual post.

Breaking down my favorites--I tried to only pick brands that I think are pretty widely accessible (leaving out some of the local wineries we love but if you're ever in the DMV feel free to message/email me if you want recommendations).

Reds
Las Rocas - My #1 favorite wine, a red blend from Spain. Very smooth with all the oaky flavor I love! Unfortunately, I haven't found a local store yet that sells this but we had no problem when we were living in Boston. I am determined to find it this year!
Coppola Malbec - I am ALMOST exclusively a Malbec drinker when it comes to red (I do dabble in Pinot Noir & other blends sometimes). This is my absolute favorite! So smooth and rich.
Bodega Norton Malbec - Aside from Coppola, I tend to lean towards Argentinian Malbec and this one is amazing for the price. So rich in flavor and all the spice you love in a Malbec.
La Crema Pinot Noir - The first time I tried this wine it wasn't my favorite but it has definitely grown on me and now I love it! Also very smooth & full-bodied. I also discovered I specifically like the one from Monterrey. If you're a big Pinot Noir girl I highly recommend.
Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon - I think this is a fan favorite for many! I love that this one has that spice but super full-bodied taste. It's also very affordable for the quality.

Whites
[Disclaimer: Sauvignon Blanc & Pinot Grigio only! I don't like any other white wine.]
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc - My ride or die when it comes to white wine! So citrusy/crisp.
Justin Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc-This is another super crisp white wine but I find it a little fruitier than the Kim Crawford. So yum!
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc-You can't go wrong with this one! Definitely has that citrus/acidic taste but is so drinkable and smooth.

Rosé
Whispering Angel-By far the best rosé on the market that I have tried! So crisp without being too sour or too sweet. I also love giving this as a gift.
Summer in a Bottle-Definitely a close second to Whispering Angel and the bottle is like a work of art!
Cote des Roses-A more budget friendly option that still tastes high quality and also has such an adorable bottle.
Summer Water - I got a coupon code for Winc and this was one of the wines I selected. I have contemplated getting a subscription just so I can get this rosé monthly! It is awesome. So refreshing & crisp.

What are some of your favorite wines? I would love to know!

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great week so far. We have been so enjoying the cooler temperatures. This weekend it is going to feel like actual fall with temps in the mid-60s! I don't typically do much seasonal decorating (outside of a Christmas tree in winter) but because we are home so much I have had fun adding some fall festive touches around the house. I also finally decorated my home office a little more since at this rate I'm not sure when we'll be going back into the office!

Today, I wanted to recap some of my favorite fall looks over the last few years that I still think are on trend and I linked to exact or similar items if you want to replicate. I definitely will be recreating some of these looks again this year!

Fall Bucket List [COVID Edition]

Hi friends! I hope you had a great weekend. We spent most of Saturday at home with college football returning! While Steven watched football, I made a wreath and baked some fall goodies. On Sunday, we ventured out to another local vineyard and had such a great time! The weather was totally perfect and the red wine selection was amazing.

Today, I thought it would be fun to share some fall activities you can still do during COVID. All of these are on our list and we're still hoping we can squeeze in a tiny leaf-peeping weekend getaway.

**Fall foliage hiking (& camping if you're brave) - we have been hiking a ton since the start of COVID and we're talking about a camping trip in the next few weeks. Needless to say, I'm not a big camper but Steven is very excited about it so I'll give it a try lol!

**Visit a local brewery or winery with outside seating. We have already made that one of our go-to weekend activities! We are fortunate to live close to so many breweries and wineries and they have all been great with social-distancing measures.

**Pumpkin/apple/sunflower picking - we're definitely planning on visiting one of the local farms to do some pumpkin picking this year. Quite a few places around us require reservations just to ensure safety/social distancing which I appreciate!

**Fall/Halloween Movie Marathon - Pop some popcorn and cozy up with some fall-themed movies! We do love scary movies but some feel-good options I always love watching during autumn months are Practical Magic, You've Got Mail, Hocus Pocus, When Harry Met Sally, St. Elmo's Fire & many more.

**Drive around historic neighborhoods to scope out the fall porch decor! Am I the only one that loves doing this? We're also fortunate to live in an area with plenty of historic towns + DC/Georgetown!

**Light a candle & cozy up with a good fall/spooky book. This is SUCH a great book especially for fall! I also just finished The Shape of Night and think that would be a fun read this time of year.

**Put together a fall picnic with wine and pumpkin treats! You could also have a bonfire & roast some s'mores.

**DIY a fall wreath--If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my first attempt at making a fall wreath! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and it was super relaxing.

**Fall Foliage Drive--Like I mentioned before, I'm hoping we can squeeze in a quick little foliage trip this year but it's looking unlikely since we waited so last minute. This picture was from our trip to Vermont last year. Loved scouting out all the covered bridges!

**Sign up for a Zoom baking class! I know Sur La Table is offering some seasonal online cooking & baking classes. Right now they are still offering summer-themed classes but I'm sure soon they will be switching it up!

What are some COVID-safe activities you love during fall?

A Few More Snaps from VA Beach + FF Link-Up!

Tank, Cardigan, Shorts, Mules, Bag
This was taken at The Pink Dinghy in the Vibe District. That was one of my favorite spots we visited! So many cute restaurants and little shops with handmade goodies.
We were very into evening strolls on the beach since the crowds died down and the temps were nice and cool!
Dress, Sandals, Bag
May's Parlor-the cutest little coffee/pastry shop just a block from our hotel!
Favorite swimsuit from the trip! The top is old (similar here), bottoms are Abercrombie (looks like they sold out) + my button-up linked here
Date night out! We were actually a little more adventurous and ate out then got drinks at the bar in our hotel.
Dinner and drinks at Catch 31! Highly recommend if you ever visit VA Beach.
View from our table. This spot made us feel like we were on some place really tropical lol!
We had the best view of the sunrise every morning. This was on our last day!
Hi friends! I hope you guys had a great Labor Day weekend. We actually had a great weekend since the weather was so gorgeous! We went for nature walks, visited a brewery, grabbed drinks al fresco with my parents, and I also visited the cutest nursery/home shop with my bestie. It was a really nice weekend!

Today, I thought it would be fun to share some snaps from our little weekend away in VA Beach. We had never been before and honestly, aside from checking out a few articles, I didn't make any big plans with activities like I usually do. We really spent the days relaxing at the beach and occasionally went out for a meal. We definitely tried to limit ourselves to only eating at a restaurant once a day (at most) while we were there! I just didn't feel totally comfortable eating out like we typically would on a trip.

If you do ever visit my takeaway was definitely make sure you stop by the Vibe Creative District while you're there. The shops & restaurants are ADORABLE plus all the wall murals are very cool. Our other favorite spot was Catch 31. The seafood was awesome and we just loved the outdoor seating set-up!

Cutest Leopard Bodysuit + FF Link-Up!

Bodysuit, Jeans, Headband (similar), Sandals
Hi friends! I hope you guys are doing so well. We are back from VA beach and I'm trying to get back to regularly scheduled programming over here. We had such a fun trip and felt comfortable almost the entire time! We had fun just lounging around the beach and one day we actually ventured out and explored the Vibe Creative District. We ate out a few times (only outdoors) but for the most part we did takeout and brought it back to our room! I wasn't entirely comfortable eating a restaurant yet so we definitely tried to limit that! Overall, it was super relaxing.

I wore this fun leopard bodysuit out our first night! Not going to lie--it was pretty fun to wear normal clothes. I definitely overpacked just because I was so excited to wear everything lol! I have one more outfit post I want to share from the beach next weekend then I am planning on diving into fall outfits!
