Valentine's Gifts for Her

Bottle, Kendra Scott Earrings, Handbag, Watch, Scarf, Wallet, Baublebar Earrings, Pillow, Perfume, Candle, Burberry Scarf
This post is for those of you struggling to give your significant others V-day gift ideas but it also may or may not be an excuse to do another all blush/pale pink collage! I think Valentine's Day is going to be my favorite holiday this year simply because of all the blush gift options. Steven asked me the other day what I wanted for Valentine's Day and I told him "Don't worry--my post will be up on Friday!"

I already have the Chloe perfume and the Kate Spade watch (in regular gold but the rose gold is too adorable). The perfume smells AMAZING! If you like a rosy scent, then this is definitely for you. I am all about roses (hence my blog name) so as soon as I got a sample of this from Sephora, I knew I needed it. It's so pretty, fresh, and feminine. Steven loves when I wear it! The Kate Spade watch I wear every single day and absolutely love. It's so classic and the little pink spade is too adorable for words. If I had to pick just one thing off this list, it probably would be either the Kendra Scott or the Baublebar earrings. I just love a good pair of statement earrings and Kendra Scott is one of my favorite brands!

Do you guys have any fun plans this weekend? Wedding dress shopping is tomorrow so wish me luck! I'll definitely let y'all know how it goes on Monday!

Black on Camel

Sweater: BP., Skirt: Hinge (sold out, similar here, less expensive option here), Booties: Aldo, Bag: Tory Burch
Happy Wednesday y'all! I'm getting so anxious for the weekend because Saturday is my first wedding dress appointment. I think it's possibly supposed to snow AGAIN tomorrow so I'm hoping that doesn't further delay the appointment. I guess January is a bad time for wedding festivities!

Obviously these photos were taken before "Snowzilla!" It'll be a while before I can see the grass again. I absolutely LOVE this outfit and how put together it looks. This suede skirt was an awesome investment and can easily transition through the seasons. Though the skirt is sold out, I'm linking to one very similar and to another that's a little less expensive. I just adore suede. I'm want to buy a suede jacket like this one (here) next!

Snow Day

Coat: J. Crew, Sweater: Sun & Shadow, Jeans: Articles of Society, Boots: Sam Edelman, Headband: Old (similar here)
Happy Monday loves! Hope you all had a fun and safe weekend. Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston  and Style Elixir for today's post! As you guys can probably tell from the pictures, we were completely snowed in all weekend. I think we got 28 inches total! Needless to say, we got a lot done around the apartment. I'm working from home still today because even though I think most of the roads are okay, our parking lot hasn't been plowed well enough for my car to make it out! It's so nice to be home with Steven and Toby so I'm not complaining.

I thought with this backdrop, might as well go with an all white, monochromatic outfit! It was so snowy and windy when we were taking these pictures and my feet kept sinking further and further. Regardless, I love how they came out!

If any of you also had a lot of snow this weekend, I hope you're enjoying your time indoors and are staying warm!

Blush & Grey

Coat: J. Crew Factory, Sweater: J. Crew (on major sale!), Jeans: Joe's Jeans, Flats: Tory Burch, Bag: Tory Burch, Sunglasses: Karen Walker
Woohoo! Happy Friday! Hope you all had a wonderful week. This one felt really short for me since I was off on Monday and I'm working from home today. I'll vote for whoever institutes 4 day weeks every week! It's seriously the best!

I know, I know--I just did a post not long ago wearing this coat. I am just obsessed with it though and it was FREEZING while we were taking these pictures. I think we got maybe 8 shots in before I gave up and ran back to the car to blast the heat! I feel like my feet look blue in these pictures because it was so cold haha! Anyway--I am loving the combination of grey and blush. It's so feminine and chic. My sweater is on MAJOR sale right now if you're looking for a cozy, quality blush turtleneck. It's a marled blush and is absolutely stunning. I have been lusting after it since I first saw it on their site but am so glad I waited for the sale!

Do y'all have any fun plans this weekend?! Because of the snow storm, we had to move my wedding dress appointment to next weekend:( If any of you are being affected by the bad weather, stay warm and safe!

Basic Sweater Dress

Scarf: Asos, Dress: BP, Boots: Ralph Lauren, Bag: Tory Burch
Happy hump day loves! Sorry that I missed my usual post on Monday. This weekend was ultra hectic so I decided to take Monday to just relax and sleep in since I had the day off! This upcoming weekend might be crazy busy too (if it doesn't blizzard as predicted) so I just needed one day to clean our place and lounge around.

Like I mentioned last week, I decided to add some balayage back into my hair and am so happy with the results! Because I went SO dark the last few times, she wasn't able to get it as light as I was hoping but I still really love it. There are shades of lighter brown and caramel which really just warms everything up! After having the warmth added back in, I actually can't believe how dark my hair used to be. I'm going to go back in March to add some lighter blonde pieces. Here is a picture my stylist posted below if you're interested in how it turned out:
Anyway--this scarf from Asos is my OBSESSION! I stalked it for months because it was out of stock for so long. It's so warm and cozy and I love how sleek the black and white pattern is!

Weekend Wish List-Blush Edition

Clutch, Earrings, Sweater, Palette, Candle, Coat, Headphones, Sunglasses, Scarf
Happy Friday! Linking up with Amanda from Meet @ The Barre for today's post! So excited to be getting into a 3 day weekend. There's something about that extra day that just makes the weekend feel a million times longer! Like I mentioned in my last post, I'm getting my hair done on Saturday then at night Steven and I are FINALLY seeing the new Star Wars movie. Sunday I'm meeting up with one of my bridesmaids for a shopping/lunch date then hopefully Monday I can just relax and watch Netflix!

As a lot of you probably know, the Pantone 2016 Colors of the Year came out not that long ago. The colors are Rose Quartz (which is essentially blush) and Serenity (a super relaxing, light blue). Immediately, I was on board with Rose Quartz because my obsession for blush has grown exponentially over the last year. These are a couple blush items on my wish list! The Ralph Lauren coat and that gorgeous Nars palette are especially high on the list.

How do y'all feel about this year's colors? Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Split-Back Plaid

Shirt: Wayf, Jeans: Paige Denim, Shoes: Vince Camuto, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff, Sunglasses: Karen Walker
Happy hump day! Hope your week is going well so far. I must say, I'm pretty excited that it's another 3 day weekend coming up! We originally were set to visit my MOH in Columbia, SC this weekend but unfortunately that trip got cancelled. I am pretty excited because on Saturday I'm getting balayage added back into my hair! I love the dark hair but I just feel more like myself when I have a little bit of highlights/balayage. I don't know if any of you follow Marianna Hewitt's blog or insta but I LOVE her subtle balayage. That's definitely the look I'm going for. I won't be seeing my usual stylist because he's out of town so fingers grossed this girl is just as good!

As you can tell, it was SO windy when we were taking these pictures. I mean...I'm not going to complain--I love the windblown effect in the photos! Because this shirt is split in the back (which is so stinkin' cute) it was flying all over the place. You get the idea though!

Fuzzy Coat

Coat: Shoptiques (sold out, similar here and here), Top: Free People, Jeans: Topshop, Shoes: Topshop, Bag: Tory Burch, Necklace: Kendra Scott
Happy Monday lovelies--hope you had a wonderful weekend! Linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston for today's post! I had an awesome time at the event at our wedding venue on Saturday. The event was called Bowties & Bubbly (so cute right?!) and they had a ton of local vendors there, door prizes, and they gave us adorable gift bags at the end! I was surprised how many brides were there from all over--it wasn't just brides for that specific venue. Each ballroom was decorated and everything was just absolutely gorgeous! It made me that much more excited for the wedding.

I am obsessed with pretty much every item in this outfit! The lace-up flats, the mildly distressed black denim, and especially this cream coat from Shoptiques. I was super bummed that it already sold out but I'll keep my eye out if it comes back in stock! It's great quality and the faux fur is really soft. I love the combination of the super feminine coat with this more edgy outfit!

Lastly, Clemson plays in the National Championship tonight! Wish us luck!!!

New Year's Resolutions

via
I'm a little late on these but here goes:
  1. First and foremost—continue to grow and foster my relationship with God. Steven and I had an amazing church when we lived in Clemson and have tried various churches since living in NoVA but none have stuck. I hope to find one this year that we both love and to build a relationship with the Pastor who will, in turn, help us navigate our relationship with God.
  2. “Stay Calm and Wedding Plan On”- this year will be heavy on the wedding planning since we’ll finally be in the one year stretch! I may have mentioned this before, but Steven and I got engaged this past July and won’t be getting married until April 2017. In total, we will have been engaged for 21 months. The first couple months we really have just been relaxing and enjoying the engagement. The only planning I have done so far is booking the venue and scouring Pinterest for ideas! Starting this month, the ACTUAL planning will commence! I might even do wedding planning posts/updates every other week.
  3. Career Path-without getting into too much detail, the last 2 years I have sort of been at a crossroads with my professional life. This year I hope to really focus in on what makes me happy and pursue those interests.
  4. Health & Fitness-towards the later half of 2015, I started to get into a good work-out regimen and have been really happy with the results so far! But, there is definitely room for improvement in my diet! What can I say? I LOVE pizza. I hope to keep up the working out and to stick to a cleaner way of eating!
  5. Blogging (duh!)-not to get sappy, but blogging has seriously been one of the best things about this year! I started my blog in April and seeing it grow has been such an amazing experience. I have loved the opportunity to get to connect with all of you and appreciate all the support you’ve given me whether it’s subscribing, commenting or following me on social media! As I mentioned in #3, I have been in a funk in my professional life and it’s hard to not let that affect my outlook on everything. The blog has given me a creative outlet to talk about the things I love and it has given me the opportunity to “meet” all of you! I have big things planned for 2016 including (hopefully) starting to make some videos as I mentioned before.
Thank y’all so much again for your continued support and I can’t wait to see what 2016 brings!

Shades of Neutral

Wrap/Scarf: Halogen, Sweater: Zara, Pants: Joe's Jeans, Shoes: Dolce Vita, Bag: Kate Spade (old, similar here), Hat: Sold Out (similar here)
Happy Wednesday loves! Hope you're having a wonderful week so far. For me, the post-holiday struggle is so real! I am feeling so exhausted and Steven keeps trying to convince me to take the Christmas tree down to which I keep refusing. Is anyone with me?! I'm totally in denial that Christmas is over.

Clearly, I'm really into grey this week on the blog. I absolutely love this wrap from Nordstrom! I have worn it as a scarf but also adore styling it as a wrap/shawl. I'm all about neutral colors and love how the wrap really ties grey and beige tones together! Also--you can't see it that well with the wrap over it, but the sweater I'm wearing here is the SOFTEST item in my closet! It's from Zara and is very inexpensive so if you're looking for a nice, cozy top to lounge around in, this one is perfect. I seriously can't stop wearing it!

Winter Coat Perfection

Coat: J. Crew, Sweater: J. Crew, Jeans: Paige Denim, Booties: Sole Society
Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful New Year's and enjoyed time with friends and family. Today, I'm linking up with Biana from B Loved BostonMore Pieces of Me, and Fizz and Frosting for today's post! It was a pretty relaxing long weekend overall and was made even better when Clemson won on Thursday. So excited to see them going to the National Championship game!

I am extra excited about today's outfit because I had been wanting this coat (here) from the regular J. Crew forever but it's pretty pricey and was never included in the sales. I was SO happy when I found the jacket I'm wearing here from J. Crew Factory for MUCH less! It's almost completely identical and is less than half the price. It's going to get a ton of use with the really cold weather months approaching.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day loves!

2015 Favorites Round-Up!

Clockwise: Foundation, Booties, Candle, Lipstick in "Very Victoria", Flats, Sunglasses, Hat (sold out, similar here), Sneakers, Vest, Argan Oil, Scarf, Tote, Necklace, Shadow Stick in "Copper", Earrings (sold out, similar here)

Happy New Year! It was SO hard to narrow down when putting this list together of my favorite products from 2015 but I think I have a good representation here! Most of these are self-explanatory but two products that were game-changers were beauty items of course. I have been looking for the "perfect" foundation for a long time. Honestly, it's safe to say I have tried almost every foundation sold at Sephora. This Make Up For Ever HD foundation stick has to be my all-time favorite! If you have super dry skin and like a really natural look with more medium coverage, this foundation is the one for you.

Another new holy grail is the Josie Maran "Argan Oil." I don't know why it took me so long to try this but last month my dry skin started getting out of control. I'm always scared to try new products because I have extremely sensitive skin but once I added this oil into my regimen it made a difference almost overnight. After using it for only a couple weeks, I have no dry patches and the redness I had on my cheeks from eczema has almost disappeared.

Can y'all believe 2015 is over?! It was one heck of a year with changing jobs, getting engaged, and starting the blog in April! Getting engaged was obviously the highlight of my year but aside from that, 2015 was incredibly challenging and brought a lot of questions to the forefront. I feel like 2015 was the year I had (and am still having) a quarter-life-crisis. Google it! It's a real thing.

Not to get too heavy but we had a medical emergency in the family (everything is okay now!) back in March that lead to such a moment of clarity. It taught me that (as cliche as it sounds) life is seriously SO short and you never know what the future is going to bring. Do the things that make you happy and pursue your dreams while you have the opportunity! That's a lesson that I'm hoping to take into 2016.

Going along with that lesson, fashion, beauty and writing are 3 things that I'm so passionate about and I look forward to every blog post. I'm hoping the blog continues to grow in 2016 AND I also want to start filming videos so look out for that! Thank you for all of your support! Starting a blog was scary but it has been such a blessing to connect with so many of you. Again, Happy New Year!
