Sweating for the Wedding [New Series]

Sweatshirt: "Outdoor Voices" via J. Crew, Leggings: Lululemon, Sneakers: Nike
Hey there loves! Happy Friday! Thank goodness I'm working from home today because  I can always sleep in at least one hour longer on my home days--I have just been exhausted this week! Anyway--I'm just going to jump right into today's post.

I am going to be starting a new series on the blog and wanted to see what your thoughts were! As most of you know, I'm getting married next April so now that we're finally within the 1 year stretch (we have been engaged since last July...long time I know!), I want to start buckling down and getting really serious about fitness/nutrition. I already tried (and failed haha) Whole 30 but that was mainly to see if I have a dairy/gluten intolerance and not because I want to lose weight. It's something I may do closer to the wedding to really lean out but from now up until the wedding, I want to try something a little more attainable. I have been reading a lot about IIFYM (macro counting) and even tried it for a few months last year. I definitely saw a difference especially with working out! For me, I think it's definitely the best fit for my lifestyle and also for the type of results I want to see in my body. If you don't know much about macro counting, I have linked to the If It Fits Your Macros site here.

Anyway--back to the series idea! I'm thinking about doing posts every other Friday just talking about my fitness/nutrition journey and sharing results over the next year leading up to the wedding. I'm going to call it "Sweating for the Wedding" because I see that hashtag all over Instagram and thought it sounded cute! One thing I really LOVE about this idea is that I think it will help keep ME super accountable and will really motivate me to stick to the regimen. If everyone enjoys the posts, I'll probably keep it up after the wedding and just call it "Fitness Friday." I would love to hear your thoughts, tips, and more about your fitness journeys too!

  11. I LOVE your workout look, beautiful, and I love the whole idea of a fitness/health related post! I'm very much into fitness and nutrition, so I'm always looking for some new inspiration and ideas. I looked into the Whole 30 program and felt it wasn't for me, so I don't blame you for not continuing with it right now, I was like, then what's left to eat?! Haha! I think it's great for a short term cleanse though. I hope you have an amazing weekend, beautiful, and thanks so much for sharing!

  12. That is an adorable hashtag! I have a hard time sticking to things too. I read something recently that said when people make a public pledge, they are 80% likely to keep it (as opposed to 10% likely when they make a pledge to themselves). Not sure if it's true haha, but if it is, this Friday posting is a great idea for motivating you!

  13. Cute series! First off, you already look incredible but I think it's so smart to give yourself a year to make a lifestyle change rather than trying to see rapid results a month before your wedding! Can't wait to see what you share in the coming months :)
    Enjoy your weekend lady!

  17. I love this new series idea! This active outfit is so cute. You're gonna look awesome for your wedding!

By the way, MyFitnessPal is the best help for macro counting. Don't bother paying for the premium version, though!

  20. I made $20 for filling a 20 minute survey!

Guess what? This is exactly what big companies are paying for. They need to know what their customer needs and wants. So big companies pay millions of dollars per month to the average person. In return, the average person, like me, fills out surveys and gives them their opinion.
