Our Charleston Trip Itinerary!

Happy Monday friends! I am definitely still recouping from our trip to Charleston. We had such a great time but with the cost of flights (especially on a holiday weekend), we ended up driving and we hit SO much traffic coming back yesterday. The drive took us 8 hours going down and about 11 coming back--it was awful!

We went down to Charleston this past weekend because Steven's best friend was getting married. Since my office was closed for the 4th and 5th, we decided to make a trip of it! I thought I'd share with y'all what we did, where we ate, etc. while we were there.

Day 1

We had driven down halfway the night before (stopping in Rocky Mount, NC) so we were able to get to Charleston from NC by lunchtime. We quickly checked into our hotel then we went straight to the Battery. We figured this was a good starting point because there were pretty views and it was a short walk to Rainbow Row which was one place I wanted to see most!

The houses were all SO beautiful--not just on Rainbow Row but all over the city. I don't think I've ever taken so many pictures within my first hour of being somewhere.

We made our way to King Street for some lunch and shopping! Unfortunately a lot of the more local shops were closed for the 4th but one that I went into and LOVED was called Bevello. It was so adorable and carried BB Dakota and a few other great brands! Copper Penny was also on my list to visit but unfortunately it was closed and with the wedding festivities I didn't have a chance to go back there before we left.We strolled around a few of the chain stores that were actually open like Madewell, Anthropologie, Free People, etc. then we decided it was time for drinks. Again, SO many places were closed but we found a really cool bar called Ink N Ivy. This place has super edgy decor and a lot of seating so if you go to Charleston with a big party, this would be a great stop!

Dinner @ The Darling Oyster--this restaurant was SO good. When I was researching where to eat in Charleston, this restaurant came up quite a few times. We got there about an hour before our reservation so we sat at the bar beforehand and I ordered their famous Paloma which was AMAZING. We also ended up splitting a plate of oysters from their raw bar before sitting down for dinner.

Day 2
We woke up early and headed back into Charleston.

First, we needed to get our coffee fix so we stopped into a local shop called City Lights Coffee. It's such a cute little shop and they have amazing iced coffee.

Brunch @ Poogan's Porch--This was another restaurant that was recommended to us and was also mentioned in a lot of the blogs/articles I read before our trip. It was SO yummy with lots of Southern fare options on the menu. I can't remember the name of it but I got one of their signature drinks and a Shrimp Louie salad. Steven got a big bowl of their shrimp n' grits and it did not disappoint. He's from the south too so that's how you know it's good!

After brunch we had to head back to get ready for the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner so it was wedding activities for the rest of the day!

Day 3
This was the day of the wedding but we had some time to kill in the morning since Steven and I are pretty early risers.

First thing's first, we had to grab coffee and we decided to go back to City Lights Coffee again because it's in such a convenient location and we loved it that much!

We decided to spend the morning walking around the Waterfront park because it wasn't quite as crowded as it was on the 4th. We sat on the pier with our coffees and enjoyed the pretty views then made our way over to the famous pineapple for a picture.

We started to get hungry and didn't have any reservations so we made our way over to Market Street to find a restaurant that was serving breakfast/brunch. We decided to stop into this adorable restaurant called East Bay Meeting House. It's SUCH a pretty restaurant and was in such a cute part of town. Their brunch/breakfast menu was awesome so we definitely recommend!

Walking back to our car, we stumbled upon the prettiest street that I saw while we were there. I think it was called Queen Street but there were so many GORGEOUS homes. I mean...every house there is so pretty but these ones were just breathtaking and so unique.

After that, we had to head back to get ready for the wedding which was so gorgeous. We're so glad that we were able to be a part of it and also that we were able to make a little trip of the weekend!

That was it for our weekend in Charleston. We definitely can't wait to go back soon!! I'll be doing a separate post (or two) on what I wore while we were there and will link outfit details so stay tuned for that. You can also shop all of my outfits via LiketoKnowit.
