How to Make a Tequila Mule [With Fresh Ginger]

Hi friends! I am back after a couple weeks' hiatus from the blog. I just wanted to take some time to get settled in to the new house and I'm so glad I did! For a bit we were still going back and forth between our new house and our old one but now we are 100% out and it feels really good. We're definitely still in the process of unpacking and furnishing but I'll start sharing some pictures here soon!

What better way to start Monday with a recipe for an adult beverage? During quarantine, Steven has really taken to mixology and I definitely benefit from this by getting to try everything! This was definitely one of my favorites--the fresh ginger REALLY makes all the difference.

Step 1 - Finely grate about 1.5 tsp of ginger (make sure to peel your ginger first)
Step 2 - Measure out 2 oz of tequila and pour into your shaker.
Step 3 - Add 1 oz simple syrup, 1 oz lime juice, and the grated ginger
Step 4 - Shake pretty vigorously for 25-30 seconds
Step 5 - Make sure you have a strainer handy and pour the contents through the strainer over ice
Step 6 - Top it off with a splash of club soda and garnish with lime & candied ginger

Enjoy!
